Nowhere in this Matea Gold piece in the Washington Post is it mentioned that the main reason that super-wealthy Republican donors are not giving money as readily this year is because they were told that the polls were skewed and that Mitt Romney was going to win. Now they don’t believe the fundraisers and consultants anymore. They now believe that they given false assurances; they were bilked; they got conned.
And that is not a good feeling.
And I suppose they see the same scenario replaying itself, regarding all of these “gates” that are supposed to be worse than Watergate.
The GOP isn’t helping itself (thank the FSM) by doing that, because, again, they’re showing that they more than willing to spin things their way, and then try to sell that BS to the donors, for donations.
That will continue to work with the ignorant rubes.
Rich donor’s aren’t quite as gullible.
They expect a ROI, for their money.
They got none last November.
They see no one getting any ROI on “The Scandal Dujour.”
World class business grifters, know other grifters are after the money they got from their grift – so pipsqueak political grifters don’t scare them none. And if they were fooled once, before they donate again, they’ll want some real assurances.
Well said. Business men want a return on their investment. ROI. For years and years, the Republicans were delivering regularly. Last cycle pulled back the curtain to reveal that, at the national level, they cannot.
That said, those same big donors know that midterms are different and they know it’s an important election. So there’s no room for complacency on the left. It’s time to bury those bastards.
The DLC is delivering for them now.
maybe they’re all tapped out donating to Gabriel Gomez, who claims he’ll win in MA

Max Bialystock could not have played them better.
“Not a good thing”?
It’s an AWESOME thing!
If they really let themselves be flim flammed by that “skewed polls” stuff they deserve to have been fleeced. There was plenty of evidence that the polls were not skewed – only FauxNews was pushing that line. But they’ll probably open their wallets again. Got to keep betting if you’re going to make up your losses.
The entire infrastructure of conservatism is a lie. there really isn’t any way around that. if they want to support the party of conservatism, they must accept the lies.
Accept the lies? They invented the lies! The lies are all to make the less wealthy support the wealthy.
