I haven’t done a fundraiser in a long time. But we’ve been slammed with car repairs, thousands of dollars of dental work, and then yesterday the water line to the well burst and began sending gallon upon gallon of water into our basement.
I’m trying to keep the site going, but I depend on the support of our readers. Please consider making a contribution towards the upkeep of the Frog Pond.
Thank you in advance.
That’s rough. I hope things turn around for you soon.
I have been away for a while (the recurring JFK conspiracy stuff didn’t interest me), but I enjoy your site and think it’s (usually 😉 an important voice of sanity in our politics.
Hang in there, and keep the lights on!
Cheers,
Scott.
BooMan,
I love you, and I love this site.
But I’m unemployed (for over 3 years), and my Mom and I live off her SS Survivor’s Benefits – so, while I’m with you in spirit, I can’t afford to make any contribution.
Not even a tiny one.
So, sorry…
We barely make it from month-to-month, trying not to raid the remaining very few thousand dollars left in my Mom’s savings account.
But if I ever do find another job, which is likely – since I’m 55 – I’ll be happy to contribute to you, and the other GREAT Liberal websites who allow me to leave my idiotic word-turds.
I wish you luck – you deserve it, for your excellent analysis, and your wonderful writing.
OY!
‘Unlikely,’ to find another job.
Been there, Gulag. I feel your pain.
I paid $3,000 in loans this month and I have a wedding…but I worked a lot of OT. I’ll mail you something next week. I still like the idea of you telling us how much you need so I know how much to give.
We are fortunate enough right now to be able to help a number of causes, and people that are near and dear to us. And, for me, one of those places is this blog. I will be looking at what I can do right now. But rest assured, there will be something in the till very soon.
Wow! Close on the heels of the last one (6/4/2013) but okay.
How about a snail-mail address too.
Martin Longman
P.O. Box 269
Exton, PA 19341
yeah, don’t mail to that address because I didn’t maintain it.
Oh, thanks for saying so. Then americanforliberty and I would appreciate the new one 😀
Damn it!! All that hanging out at the Exton Mall waiting for the frog to show up was for nothing! :-p
Teaching a rug hooking workshop all of next week, so I’ll have some dough in my Paypal account again.
This is the first blog I read every day. I refer to it often during the day as well, because I enjoy the company here: smart, clever insights from Boo and the commenters alike. I wish I could donate more, because I know it’s a lot of work.
So thanks, and I’ll send something next week after classes!
Just sent a few bucks. Thanks for your continuing analysis of current events, BooMan.
I disagree with you about everything, but am required to drop you a few bucks when the next check comes in because I really enjoy disagreeing with you about everything!
Good luck with the basement.
Once it dawned on us that we could kill the breaker on the pump, the water stopped flowing. So, at least there’s that.
That and $20, and you can buy yourself … well, not much. If I ever hit the bestseller list, I’ll start adding zeros.
Thanks for all you do Martin, hope your run of $$$$ going out ends soon.
Wow, car repairs, dental work and water in the house. It just doesn’t get any better than that…
Booman, I have sworn off PayPal, but I can mail you a small check if you provide an address.
Or if you have an amazon WishList, like tbogg does, I would gladly purchase something at amazon and have it shipped to you.
is there anything we should know about Paypal? just curious b/c I use it
Good question. Nothing new that I know of, just that they can be a nightmare to deal with when there is a problem. I would rather deal with comcast than paypal, and that’s saying a lot.
I recently had to make 5 phone calls to comcast (30 minutes each) and actually make a trip into their office to get them to deal with the cable that was hanging across my yard – for 3+ weeks – after the tree fell on my house.
And I would still rather deal with comcast than paypal. When paypal hangs on to your money because of an error THEY made, it’s maddening.
wow! thanks for your reply.
I just spent the entire time since I published the McGargle piece trying to sort out a glitch with PayPal. They randomly reset a limit on how much I can withdraw in a month. That requires me to go through a bunch of loops and it takes at least three days to fix. It’s fixed now, but a pain in the ass.
Still, I don’t have many complaints about PayPal. I have much bigger problems with my bank and cable companies.
A small token of my appreciation is on the way. Thanks for keeping the place open, Boo.
Thursday is payday so I will chip in then. I’m sorry you were hit with all those things.
Done. This is the only political site I contribute to. Your analysis is excellent.
