Iraq is finally beginning to produce the oil that the Bush-Cheney administration thought they would when they made the decision to invade back in early 2001. It’s a good thing, too, because Libya isn’t producing up to expected levels and Iran is suffering under sanctions.

Neocon Target: Why Syria? World’s Oil Supply System.
“Iraq floats on a sea of oil”—Paul Wolfowitz
Iraq’s massive oil reserves have never been thoroughly explored or effectively exploited. It’s some of the very last “cheap oil” on earth and now it can be sold at premium prices for low pumping costs. I hope that the Iraqi people can somehow (finally) benefit from their great national asset.
Actually, Iraq’s oil could be seen as a long term global asset, to be used wisely over the coming generations and not pissed away in the gas tanks of plutocrat and yahoo Hummers and SUVs, or wasted in the appalling parade of double length semi-trailers which run day and night across the American interstates delivering shit for Walmart. And pigs may fly.
History will without question ultimately conclude that America’s oil industry/addiction was the only possible reason for Oilman Cheney’s illegal war of aggression against Iraq–a war undertaken solely to liberate Iraq’s oil from Saddam. A war in which not a single principal will ever acknowledge the truth of their (painfully obvious) motive. Watching Kerry fulminate about Putin’s “illegal” invasion of Ukraine is suitably comic.
So is this finally mission accomplished?
Even though Bush II would never say it, perhaps Cindy Sheehan now knows what her son died for.

In the oil game you make money supplying oil and you make money by cutting off oil supplies and driving the price up. It’s controlling the spigot that’s the key.
Better that none of these countries produce oil. Better that oil and coal be only used a plastics feedstocks and never burned.
