The more I read live tweets about this Boggs confirmation hearing, I’d say he was a contender.
Sterling takes the award. Rove is just a liar.
I beg to differ. Rove’s comment is vicious, calculated disinformation intended to smear a national figure who might run for president, and thereby damage the integrity (what’s left of it) of the electoral process. If I were HRC I’d sue his ass in a New York minute. Turd Blossom really needs to be put in his place for this one (and I say this as no great admirer of HRC, BTW).
Sterling’s comment is simply the racist rant of a rich asshole. It won’t harm anyone but him.
She cannot “sue his ass,” Redhand, a fact of which I am sure Rove is perfectly aware. .If she did she would have to go to court and submit her medical records. I don’t think anyone who supports her for the office of President would like to see that, myself. I don’t think that anyone who supports any politician in a position of real power would like to see what meds they have been gulping down in order to be able to deal with the day-to-day stresses of running an empire. The U.S. is in the midst of a pharmacological nightmare, and you can be sure that its movers and shakers are by and large right smack in the middle of that nightmare. Uppers, downers (even sideways) pills, antibiotics up the yin-yang, sleep aids and wake-up-and-smell-the-crisis aids…they are getting the full Big Med treatment. I feel sorry for them, actually. They are being poisoned with the best of intentions.

Booman…
Karl Rove is certainly a jerk. Worse. Much worse. But do you really believe that Hillary Clinton is healthy enough to be able to stand up to the rigors of being president?
I don’t.
On the evidence of my own eyes.
And hers.
She overextended herself physically as Secretary of State…a tough, tough job, full of mental and emotional stress plus rigorous travel demands. I hope she doesn’t run. I really do. I’m not sure that she will even make it whole through a presidential campaign. All I’ve got to say is that if she does run, she’d better choose a VP candidate who could really step up or else we are all in bigger trouble than we think.
AG
Of course you believe it is not Rove. Misogyny is you whole schtick.
Shorter AG….
‘Doesn’t she just look sooo tired’
You should just write it like that and be done with it.
.
Misogyny is not “my whole schtick,” nalbar. Not even close. In point of fact I supported HRC over Obama during the whole primary race for the 2008 election on the grounds that she would be a better president due to her long-time insider knowledge regarding how to manipulate the levers of federal power. She was a pro and he was…still is, on plentiful evidence…an amateur. I have written here many times that I believe she was the political brains behind Bill Clinton’s rise to power, that he was a glorified frontman with a quiz show host’s gift for gab and not much more. I also would love to see Elizabeth Warren in a position of real national power, just for starters.
It is in no way “misogynistic” to say that I see weakness in her face and body. It’s not “ageist,” either. I am the same age as is she, and let me tell you…I know first-hand about the depredations of aging. I see what I see and I tell it like I see it. I’m healthier than is she in my opinion, and I don’t think that I could handle the stress of the presidency either. So it goes. I don;’t want to see Biden run, either.
Further…I have really come to despise the lame-brained habit of leftiness partisans…centrist and rightiness ones as well…of assuming that everyone is as knee-jerk in their political opinions as are they. I am a free thinker. I observe and I comment, regardless of party affiliations, sexual orientations, gender, race or religion.
Deal wid it.

Wow.
Absolutely Fristian.
Define your terms.
Prove them, while you’re at it.
AG
Yes.
Ann Coulter! oh wait…. Rush Limbaugh! oh wait… Jeebus, they all suck.
Ann Coulter’s ridiculing the missing girls is heartless, a different category.
Sterling, hands down. While Rove’s conversation may be distasteful, I see it as equivalent to our/my discussion about Ronny Raygun’s mental health in his second term. It may well be a jerk move, but Sterling’s conversion about Magic in the immediate aftermath of his mistress exposing his naked racism – words escape me…
You start handing out awards for being a jerk, and the rest of them think it’s a competition. My face can take only so many palmings before I suffer a traumatic brain injury myself, and I don’t want to have to compete with the likes of Donald or Karl for a job.
It’s sort of like MVP awards in sports, where people debate whether they should go to the best player, or to the player that’s done the most to help their team win.
Sterling’s the biggest jerk. Rove is the most influential jerk. Which you “prefer” is a matter of personal distaste.
I think they should be co-winners. It might help to teach them to share (she says with tongue in cheek).
If Magic Johnson were white, would Sterling’s latest comments – ala sleeping around and AIDS be so out of line? Anyway, I’m sick of hearing about this rich fossil. Sterling is just stupid. Rove’s the jerk.
