Great “captioning for the clear-headed”. All things considered, it’s a minor miracle Joe Cocker survived the 1960s and 70s.
This also meets what I’ve come to think of as the First Rule of Cover Songs: you’ve got to bring something new to it.

It was a performance for the ages.
Most covers are terrible, although a few, if they bring something to it that wasn’t there before, can make them better.
