Senator Ted Cruz of Texas continues his campaign to be the most well-liked and effective member of the U.S. Senate:
Sen. Ted Cruz is calling for an official investigation into the Republican Senate primary runoff in Mississippi between Sen. Thad Cochran and the challenger, state Sen. Chris McDaniel.
The Texas Republican on Monday evening called the runoff contest “appalling” and said that allegations of voter fraud need to be investigated.“We’ve seen serious allegations of voter fraud,” Cruz said on “The Mark Levin Show.” “And I very much hope that no Republican was involved in voter fraud. But these allegations need to be vigorously investigated and anyone involved in criminal conduct should be prosecuted.”
In effectively calling for his colleague, Thad Cochran, to be prosecuted, Sen. Cruz has showed just how comity really works.
Oh, now, Boo, Ted The Truthteller is just saying that he has already concluded that the primary runoff was “appalling”, that there are “serious allegations of voter fraud” and that Republican base voters are “hungry for change”. He didn’t call for old, old Thad to be prosecuted. Why would you even mention that?
Maybe you mentioned it because you know about some criminal conduct, is that it? I understand that True Patriots will be paid $1000 if they bring the truth to light. The McDaniel campaign has a 1-800 number you can call- I’ll give it to you. Do you have a pen? OK, here goes…
Yes, Ted knows that the Reagan Revolution took place without asking for the votes of Democratic Party voters at all. Southern Strategy what?
There are serious allegations of voter fraud. And the first person to bring us one gets a prize.
Comity, has now been replaced by comedy.
But not funny, comedy – stupid, comedy.
More like porn. Cruz gives Tea Party another blow job.
What are the “serious allegations of voter fraud” again? Asking blah people to vote Thad in the Repub primary? Or Dems voting in both primaries? Wouldn’t the latter be pretty easy to document?
How many people even voted in the MS Dem primary? And since the party primaries were two different races we’re getting pretty far afield of the Repubs’ classic “voter fraud” bogeyman. It’s not someone voting for the same candidate twice or voting in a jurisdiction they aren’t registered in—you know, the kind of voter fraud that Repubs bozos usually get caught pulling.
Maybe Tailwiper Ted needs to sue Thad in MS court hisself! Celebrity lawsuits! Good times!
My comment from an earlier thread:
In the 2014 GOP primary Cochran and McDaniel each received approximately 150,000 votes. A few thousand votes went to another candidate which left McDaniel short of the 50% requirement. In the run-off, approximately 60,000 more voters showed up but they favored Cochran by a slightly better margin that he received in the primary.
Cruz seem oblivious to how quickly and easily the old guard of the GOP can crush him if is so chooses.
Paying for McDaniels’ 2nd primary should then logically be funded by Cruz’s own campaign coffers. The last thing the poorest state in the union needs is to rob a line item of their current budget in order to pay for this carnival.
Warm, buttery popcorn. Yum.
I tell you he knows what he’s doing–running for first Senator to be named Speaker of the House. Having friends in the Senate doesn’t get him there.
