   Hey, I live around Philly too, and I’ve been grateful for the lack of heat.  Probably an outlier and we’ll average 90 degrees from April to October next year…

   Now if the “crappy” refers to the news cycle, I’m right there with you.

   Noodling around trying get my computers to power save with suspend and rtcwake. I added up all the power consumptions while idle, measure with a Kill-A-watt. The total was 300 watts. Suspending the 60W computer got it down to 10W. I might just shut the three linux boxes down and wake them when needed by wakeonlan. The XP box is suspending just fine, but I don’t know how to make it wake up on schedule. Everything I’ve found is for Win 7 and some indicates that XP is flaky in this regard.
