Hi everyone! I bussed the tables and swept the floors. Hope all is well in your part of this giant chunk of rock!
And put up some really pretty decorations. 🙂
olivia gets the credit (the critters, too) 😉
I also enjoyed how you decorated Twitter with those spectacular Tucson skies.
the monsoon was above-average this year, plus two remnant hurricanes, so the sunsets were spectacular. All I did was take my phone out and snap between Ooohs and Aaaahs 😉
Cool. Good to “see” you around these parts.
rightbackatcha, DD!
I concur, Manny.
Hi Man Ee! What a surprise to see you hanging out here! Long time no see.
I know…my off-screen life is a constant barrage of chaos but I always find my way back to the frog pond to splash around. Good to see you, ID!
Hay there stranger! Love the bird porn.
Hay’s fer horses! 😉 Me, too. Thankfully the flog still lives and provides good Cafe wallpaper.

Humptastic.
I love the little fungi people. Must be having a Fantasia flashback.
Shana tova to all who celebrate Rosh Hashanah.
Happy new year, Andi!
And to you.

It’s amazing that tree hasn’t fallen over.
Roots are very solidly planted and it’s on flat ground so it’s pretty secure. If it were on a hillside, then it would probably be in more trouble.
Posted this in a thread on the front page but thought it was fitting in here.
Biltmore Reflection
That’s just gorgeous and so lush.
Thanks Andi, it was early summer and the heat had not yet gotten to the foliage.
The lake and grounds to the house are all man made garden, Fredrick Law Olmsted designed.
Cool reflection!

Seeing the hump through the trees.
Kind of disappointing to have to go back to our little hills after having the Colorado mountain photos to post.
So who gave BooMan a razor? I’m convinced his absence was due to losing his superpowers stored in that glorious beard
Is that how it works? Maybe I need to grow a beard.

Very cool!
Thanks. Also, thank to the rocks in the creeks for making the water ripples go every which way. 🙂

Minihumps!
Bubblicious humps.
Flog is up, enjoy!
Thanks Bob!
Thanks for doing this, BobX.

Our leaves are coming down in showers now.
There’s a lot of nice fall color emerging here. I’m hoping the big rain that’s coming doesn’t bring them all down.
The trees along the edges of roads and trails are really looking lovely but deeper in the woods, there’s a lot less color, especially those that are heavily oak and beech.

Walking a fine line, as it were.
I can easily imagine Bebo burling down a roaring river in a lumberjack competition, rather like Snoopy piloting his doghouse after the cursed Red Baron.
She’d probably love it — she see a downed tree, she’s getting on it.

Haha! What a surprise — wasn’t sure which link I clicked when I saw that image for a moment. Wonderful to see you Manny!
Hope everyone of the Canadian bent had a good Thanksgiving weekend.
Hope you had a nice family gathering too.
Happy belated Thanksgiving!
TGIF!

Very cool clouds. Was it windy?
Just a light breeze. Of course, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t windy where those clouds were. 🙂

It’s a hump playground!
It’s lumps down in the humps.
That is absolutely gorgeous.
A portrait of serenity, too. Lovely shot!
Jim and I did early voting this week and we saw that Brown County political dynasty might be about to happen. 🙂
The Libertarian for sheriff guy was pretty humorous at the candidate forum he was in. He always runs for something and will get at around 140 votes. I guess you probably noticed that several of our candidates are unopposed.
Actually I didn’t notice because I did something I have never done before — I voted straight Democratic ticket.
It was probably your best option, at least this time around. I’d really like to see some balance up at the statehouse and a CPA as state auditor – what a concept!
Very cool.

You must have more color by now.
Actually we have almost no color now as most of the leaves are on the ground.
Twelve day ago near Morgan-Monroe State Forest.
The woods seemed a bit more colorful here.
Oops — meant to say that the photo was taken on the 15th too.

Very cool and just a little bit threatening.
Because it’s a little closed in?
It feels like it’s in the act of closing in.
Unfortunately for them, when they are in the act of closing in, they are actually in the act of falling down.
Of course, you don’t want to be around when that happens.
“You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?”
I wonder if my bookie knows about this.
I was thinking we would probably have better odds with this than at the casinos.

Very humpy and a lovely backdrop too. BTW, do you know how difficult it is to unroll those !$#@%& things without benefit of a tractor when frozen?
I’ve never had that particular pleasure. Eons ago in college when I used to help out at friend’s farm, it was all still in bales
In my mind I see a comic with a couple of calfs unrolling those round bales all over a pasture or feedlot like Second Nature’s dog Hope would do with TP. Momma cow is looking on disgustedly and saying,” Stop playing with your food!”
More humps than one can shake a stick at.
Let me start with we’ve had a serious family emergency emerge over the last two weeks. My mom was to have what we thought was was serious but routine valve replacement and bypass surgery, that has not turned to be the case. It is much more intensive than anyone, including the doctors thought. She has not regained full consciousness two full weeks after surgery.
I’m currently not able to post the Friday Foto Flog until further notice. I hope you understand.
Thank you, Bob
Sorry to hear this, Bob. I hope that she is well and out and about soon. The best to you and your family.
I can just post a simple photo thread if you like.
We’ll take care of things here – you stick with your loved ones and look after them. Hope all is well for your mom soon.
I’m so sorry, Bob. I hope that your mom improves very soon.
Take care of your family BobX.

So sorry to hear this Bob. I hope she gets well soon. Hugs to you and Mrs X.

Our color is now all over the lawn.
Ours too and in the rain gutters, which I should clean today while its still relatively warm. We were in Tennessee for a few days this weekend and its still quite pretty around the Cumberland River valley.
Ours too*. But I’d rather post pictures from when it looked pretty. 🙂
* except that we don’t really have a lawn and what’s on the ground doesn’t have much color either (unless you happen to be inordinately fond of dull brown).
No lawn = no mowing. What’s not to like?
FM would be proud of you.
No lawn but there is a septic field which has to be mowed (but being lazy retired folks, we pay someone to do it).

A very inviting hump.
I see it as inviting me not leave the house.
Same driveway, different part, still don’t want to leave.
Very nice!
Cold and sleet here in the Hudson Valley
We’re having an actual snowstorm here, but little accumulation so far. They received 12″ up in lake effect country a couple of days ago.
I guess I’ll be sullenly grateful that we only got about 2 inches (plus however much more accumulates before it’s through) … nah, still hating it.

Love that fall color.

I hope they’re all still standing after the storm that ripped through here earlier. There were a couple of 911 calls out your way for trees blocking the roads.
Same thing happening here in the Hudson Valley.
Lots of branches and small limbs down but happily nothing big.
Snow tomorrow. Winter is early.
Beware of white walkers.
Thanks for the warning.

Very cool.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it.
Happy Thanksgiving Andi!
I had stuffing so Thanksgiving was perfect. Hope yours was good too.
My first time roasting a turkey and it came out pretty well. Okay, it was a turkey breast and not an entire bird.
We went the turkey breast route this year too — worked out really well.
Somebody hacked a couple of INDOT electronic road signs near here this morning. A new twist on Wisconsin’s OLB perhaps?
Looks like the work of Samuel L. Jackson.

Actual blue sky! I haven’t seen it for days.
It’s been pretty gloomy here too. Best forecast can give us for the next 7 days is a day of partly sunny. 🙁
We’re getting snow/sleet later on but will get better later in the week.
We’re better off than you — temps here are warm enough that we’re just getting rain.
click for larger
Happy hump day!
When you’re retired, it’s all one big plateau. 🙂
And now 2 days of rain begins. At least the remnants of snow will be gone.
We’re on our second day of rain here too. Got about 3 inches so far.

I certainly wood.

And no problem gettng over it.

I love seeing some outdoor color now that everything is brown or gray.
Good point.

Soggy little humps.
Ephemeral soggy little humps.

That is one curvy path.
Too bad it isn’t curvy like this:
Yeah, too bad. 😉
I’m feeling a little giddy, so close to the edge.

Lovely frost flower!
It looks like a cocoon or a bandage.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it.
Back at you, from one Jew to another.
My ex-brother-in-law brought DVDs of old home movies of Christmases and Hanukkahs past (several mixed marriages means we’re — as my nephew said when he was 6 or so — both Jewish and Christmas) so we got to celebrate both.

Only remnants of each remain. Well done.
Just an easy jaunt to 2015.

Sounds like a good choice to me. We just buried my Dad today and I could use an easy jaunt.
So sorry to hear your sad news. My dad has been gone for 27 years and I still want to call and ask, “Hey dad, what do I do now?”.
Thanks ID. I Imagine that I’ll be feeling the same way.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope 2015 will be a better year.
Thanks Andi. And happy new year.
I just talked to Whit. He is still in a wheelchair but is hoping to get into rehab. But other than that, he is doing pretty good.
He misses all of us and is still hoping to get internet where he is so he can join us online.
Thanks for the FM update, Andi. It would be great to have him back in the pond.
They’re supposed to wire the place he lives for internet but he doesn’t know when. I’m pretty sure he’ll try to get back online as soon as they do.
Very good news!

Lovely set!
Next time we get in town, you’ll have your set in person. 🙂
More parking is available in our neighborhood of late. Looking forward to your visit.

Very cool.
Brown County gold.
I love watching (and taking pictures of) the patterns that the ripples make … much to the dogs’ dismay who think standing around is the pits.

Are these dry stream beds?
They’re runoff channels so they’re dry when it hasn’t rained recently (or if it rained but not very much).
I’m loving the light & shadow in this. Also the general mistyness.
Thanks!
Winter sunrise, taken by my daughter Rosa. If the gods of the Frogpond wish to use this as a photo for the next cafe, they are more than welcome to do so.
I’m adding my vote to use this gorgeous photo for a new cafe .
Agreed.
Thanks to you both. 🙂
