FU Brad Schneider (a rant)

Last cycle I gave a donation to Brad Schneider running against incumbent TeaBagger, Bob Dold, in IL-10. I live in IL-08. Schneider is now running for re-election and his campaign has been one long plea for money. Putting aside that he is now the incumbent and has access to tons of money, I didn’t really mind, although five e-mails a DAY was a bit excessive. But his latest e-mail has caused me to write a Thunderbird filter to throw him automatically into the junk folder.

Subj: FINAL NOTICE: [{my name} (10/19/2014)]

FINAL NOTICE, like I’m some deadbeat about to be repossessed or it’s one of those car insurance mailings designed to scare you into opening it. I’ll give you FINAL NOTICE, you S.O.B.

Sorry to repeat ourselves, but Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t be asking for your support if it wasn’t important.

This is the FINAL CHANCE to answer Nancy Pelosi’s call-to-action.

## NO DONATION ##

As of 8:30 PM CDT, we stand just 21 donations shy of a JAW-DROPPING 5O,OOO strong. If we can hit the mark before midnight, it’ll make Boehner think twice about messing with Illinois.

My final chance huh? So what are you going to do when I don’t contribute? Attach my paycheck?  I don’t OWE you anything and if I lived in your district I wouldn’t even vote for you. I’d even vote for your opponent if he wasn’t Robert Dold (or the equally odious Joe Walsh) just to spite your threatening language.

Contrast this with the e-mail that also arrived today from my own Congressperson, Tammy Duckworth:

Subj: Manufacturing Month in Illinois

Rep. Tammy Duckworth visits Sandvik Coromant, a manufacturer in Schaumburg.

Dear Neighbors,

October is Manufacturing Month in Illinois. It’s an important time of year where we acknowledge the great contributions that the manufacturing industry has made in our state and recommit ourselves to reinvesting in manufacturing.

Here in the 8th District, we are home to the largest consolidated business park in the United States, located in Elk Grove Village. The Elk Grove Village Business Park encompasses five square miles and more than 62 million square feet of industrial inventory. It is home to over 3,600 businesses, with 40% of those being manufacturers.

I am a proud supporter of manufacturers both large and small in the district, which is why I’ve introduced the Small Business Paperwork Relief Act and cosponsored the Manufacturing Reinvestment Account Act.

The Small Business Paperwork Relief Act will give small businesses the opportunity to correct a first time error in filling out federal paperwork without being fined. Penalizing businesses when they make their first mistake, when the stakes are highest, can prevent small businesses from succeeding and creating jobs in our community.

The Manufacturing Reinvestment Account Act would allow manufacturing firms to establish a manufacturing reinvestment account (MRA), similar to an individual retirement account (IRA), in a community bank, which would in turn help them create more jobs.

If you are interested in learning more about manufacturing in the 8thDistrict, I suggest you visit the Made in Elk Grove Manufacturing Expo on October 21st. You can find details here.

Sincerely,

Tammy Duckworth
Member of Congress

She didn’t even ask for money. If she had, I would have sent some. I’ve been told that she voted for the Postal Rescue Bill in 2013. She’s got my vote for sure. Schneider didn’t bother to list his accomplishments in the last Congress, just sends threats. Therefore {insert graphic of middle finger, how does Arthur Gilroy do it?}
