Rough translation:
Your best friend often comes to see me
Your best friend telephones me every night
He says he loves me, without me
his life would not be worth the pain: that’s what he says.
Your best friend, when I asked him “why
For so many days and nights, have I not heard from you? ”
He tells me he loves me, without me
his life would not be worth the pain, that’s what your best friend says
Yet I do not want to believe you’re in agreement/with him, it ‘s a story /that he told me
Your best friend does not come to see me now
As I said, with me he was wasting his time
I said I love you, without you my life
Would be not worth the pain,
voila; what I told your best friend
The lyrics are kind of silly and shallow when you think about it. But they sure sound great en Francais, don’t they? Open thread for music heads, especially us fans of music from other countries. I know for a fact that BooMan likes Cambodian psychedelia, and I hope he’ll join us in comments…
This is a year or two old, but I can’t get sick of it:

News faster than the internet Giants Win World Series. If if they hadn’t won tonight, this was one great play.
It’s Françoise.
My favorite by her is Oh Oh Cheri, her rendition of an American rockabilly (!) tune. Her translation of the lyrics preserves their dumbness, but it does sound better in French.
Try as you might, you will not get more badass than this:
Just a little FYI: François (pronounced frahn-swah) is the male version of the name. Françoise (pronounced frahn-swahz) is the female version.
