Too soon.
“Normal” gun deaths don’t bother the right because they don’t threaten the honor of the white male. So, terrible tragedy, move along. The point isn’t that some whackos killed some French people. What’s truly scary is that “those people” got a win. It’s emasculating.
“…when the gun went off.” Nicely phrased; no responsibility, no blame attaching to the Second-Amendment-humping jackass holding it at the time. Such a detached way of putting it. Jut another unfortunate accident.
Attempted private gun sale — no background check.
Not seeing any GoFundMe appeals for the families of the Paris attacks victims other than the British Merc manager for Eagles of Death Metal.
There always seems to be this special legal category for things like this, which hold no serious penalty because it was “an accident”.
Things like this are not accidents. They are negligent acts. And at a minimum, they should all be prosecuted as manslaughter. Only when the white, gun toting people who kill other people start going to jail because of their negligence, will we start to see a decline in gun deaths like this one. No grace for negligence that kills people.
This falls under the category civilized violence, genteel manslaughter.
well, could be murder as well. was she about to break up with him? just sayin
And in the category of ISIS didn’t do this I’ll add this This Country needs to get a grip.
In keeping with “casual observation,” I noted only recently that Jennifer Rubin posts on average 2-3 opinion pieces a day in the WP. I only read EJ Dionne and maybe a couple others, but who is she?? She tends to write screeds against Dems in general, but is on a tear about ME policy and how the whole mess is Obama’s fault with Hillary agreeing with him in policy. I know she’s a right wing opinion writer, but Rubin is quite prolific and gets a lot of space. Why? She seems to be a total hack.
iirc she’s a hack like Kristol — gets it wrong every time.
How do so many rise far beyond their level of competence? It’s a mystery. To those not within the circles of the elite.
It sure is a mystery when it comes to opinion page writers. I’d have failed their pieces in a writing class. Claim after claim with misleading or false supporting quotations/examples.
Back when I read/skimmed The Wall Street Journal most days, I rarely even skimmed the opinion pages. Tend to do the same for all on-line publications. Rarely interesting and even more rarely insightful and generally more poorly written than the good news reporters. Comments from ordinary people hold more interest for me.
Well, ISIS did this:
I fail to see what was gained by this, just tactically.
Particularly since Senate Democrats aren’t going to let this bad policy prescription get to the President’s desk.
