Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the painting of the 1940 Plymouth. I am using the photo seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8×10 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
For this week’s cycle I’ve concentrated on the three cars. The central Plymouth now appears in a blue green color. This is the first of several layers to come. Likewise, the Jeep to the left has an initial layer. Note that the color will change down the road. My Mazda to the far rear has only a color wash to show for its progress this week. Next week I’ll have some thicker layers of paint to show.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Add your artwork and quips. And paint me a picture of your thoughts.
A beautiful day here in the Hudson Valley.
As always, you are doing a great job! I recently adopted a sweetheart classic car. She’s a ’53 Pontiac Chieftain. I made a hooked wool rug for the guy I bought her from so he would have something to remember her by.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks! That’s a wonderful rug!
Oh, and here’s my baby!

Very cool! My dad used to have a 1954 Chevy, also blue and white.
My 1987 Mazda RX.
Sigh. RX-7.
I once nearly bought a Volvo P-1800. Really wanted it badly, but it was in such need of extensive restoration, I thought better of it. I’d had a red Volvo 544 a few years prior and loved it.
P-1800s are cool cars.
I got the Mazda about a year and a half ago. Only 47,000 miles. Apparently it had spent most of its then 27 years in the garage.
She’s a real beaut donnah!
Thanks! I’m lookng forward to taking her to some cruise-ins this year.
No way! I wanted one of those babies when they first came out. And red! Awesome.
I’m not what you’d call a car buff, but I saw this Pontiac in a driveway with a sale sign in it. I just had to have it. Nothing prepared me for how fun it would be to drive, nor how strong I’d have to be, too! No power brakes, no power steering!
I love your cars, too!
Glad to see this becoming a thing. I have had a trying week this past week. Will spare the details. Had a bit of a family emergency. I’ll check in as time permits. Take care all.
