Donald Trump has tapped New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to head up his transition team, should he win the November presidential election.
“Governor Christie is an extremely knowledgeable and loyal person with the tools and resources to put together an unparalleled Transition Team, one that will be prepared to take over the White House when we win in November. I am grateful to Governor Christie for his contributions to this movement,” Trump said in a statement.
I guess he didn’t have a lot of alternatives, but Christie isn’t exactly tied into the Republican Establishment on Capitol Hill. The last time he had any meaningful contact with them was when the House Republicans refused to send prompt aid to New Jersey in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) lit into House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Republicans Wednesday for not holding a vote on a Hurricane Sandy relief bill.
“There is only one group to blame for the continued suffering of these innocent victims: the House majority and their speaker, John Boehner,” he said. “This is not a Republican or Democratic issue. Natural disasters happen in red states and blue states and states with Democratic governors and Republican governors. We respond to innocent victims of natural disasters, not as Republicans or Democrats, but as Americans. Or at least we did until last night. Last night, politics was placed before oaths to serve our citizens. For me, it was disappointing and disgusting to watch.”
Boehner is gone now, but he wasn’t really responsible for that fiasco anyway. Christie will have to look to staff up an administration from a group of disgusting embarrassments. If he can’t find any House members suitable for the executive branch, maybe he can do a little better building off his relationships with governors.
For example, Gov. Paul LePage of Maine.
Christie actually said something I agree with! And I’m sure Bernie Sanders agrees also.
Yeah, well that was a once in a lifetime moment for Christie. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.
Even though I agreed with Christie, he actually paid a high price (truly) for suggesting the heretical, unthinkable option of both parties working collaboratively to solve a natural disaster crisis like this. The Teatarded Party members were Not. Amused.
And Christie paid an even higher price for making nice with Obama during the disaster. Heretic!
Crazytown. What can I say?
That’s why I was astounded.
Since Trump likes to rely on gossip to fuel his campaign perhaps he will be going to the National Enquirer’s ranks to fill his cabinet.
Maybe Christie can threaten to close down a bunch more bridges and interstates in various districts across the nation in order to muscle some of the TeaTardz to work with Trump in his “Administration.” I don’t see a whole lotta “folks” in the R Establishment rushing to join in. However, if Trump can come up with some Tubmans, all bets are off. Those parasites’ll jump through hoops of fire backwards if promised enough of the ready. They can follow Piyush Jindal’s script for why they’ve “changed their Never Trump minds” over serving in the Trump admin.
Of course, none of this will happen, as defeat is most likely for Herr Trump on Nov 8.
Well it is pretty funny to see Christie move into the slot right when there’s a loud call for Trump’s campaign to build bridges. Makes Trump’s message crystal clear, closed bridges folks !
LOL Or Toll Bridges.
Maybe he will appoint himself VP or Sec of something or other.
Secretary of Not Building Any Bridges Ever under Any Circumstances.
I’d guess that he’s angling for AG. He does have something of a record in convicting a big cheese or two.
Weirdly, the guy he managed to lock up for a couple of years, Charles Kushner, is Ivanka Trump’s father-in-law.
Christie?
Secretary of Buffoonery;
Der t-Rump is gonna need one of these most haste.
Chriistie as de facto head of staff should Trump win ?
A clear message, well ahead of the actual campaign.
Watch.
