So on CBS tonight Clinton is asked about the emails. She says she had not read them.
Does anyone actually believe that is true? Seriously? The damaging e-mail take 10 seconds to read. Are you seriously trying to convince me no one has shown what is in them?
The answer just isn’t credible.
Period.
CBS poll this morning. Is Clinton Honest and Trustworthy:
No 67
Yes 29
Numbers she will hopefully reverse this weekend.
Here’s the video link
Don’t find it implausible that she didn’t read any of the DNC emails. She has help that does that sort of thing for her. Bill, Huma, and Sid.
However, all her head bobbing and eagerness to shift the question from the DNC to her campaign looked like a tell. She knows that the DNC has been one of her assets all along. By design.
Kaine also appeared eager to jump in on this one. When he got the chance it seemed prepared/rehearsed. The old “individuals are allowed to have personal opinions,” but that doesn’t interfere with their work duties” dodge.
They’re in damage control mode and have their fingers crossed the no more shoes are about to drop.
not implausible but irresponsible. once it became an issue she should have read the key emails and had some statement about it. it’s management. how’s she going to run the country if she won’t keep on top of the campaign
Seems to have escaped notice that HRC has often exhibited irresponsibility. Also, “I know nothing,” regardless of whether it’s true or not, has served her very well.
If it was really Russian hackers, maybe they got into her SecState account too. I’m guessing she might lose a little sleep over that.
HRC didn’t have a SecState email account. Complete conjecture on my part, but I doubt that anyone hacked her server and downloaded all the emails on it. Not because it was secure but because it didn’t occur to anyone that a SoS would have her own private server.
Marie,
Assange said that another shoe will drop about the foundation
Assange too frequently advertises far more than he delivers. I pay attention when he delivers and not when he’s in marketing pre-release mode.
interesting; do you have a source easily at hand, otherwise will wait.
Note at the beginning of the 60 Minutes episode there is a clip from what I assume a campaign rally. She and Kaine enter the arena/auditorium. Do the usually hand/arm waving. Then she get to the steps up to the stage and she stops. Waits for Kaine to get in the same location. Then Kaine takes and holds onto her hand and they proceed up the steps. Once on the stage the hand holding stops immediately.
It’s been reported and appears to be accurate that cameras aren’t allowed when HRC walks up or down the steps to and from her campaign plane.
fascinating
From what I’ve read (and it’s not much), HRC appears to have a history of cardiovascular disease and is on the anti-coagulant drug, Coumadin. She may have vertigo or other balance problems due to the serious concussion she had when she experienced a blood clot. Medications have side effects, as well. IMO, HRC’s health issues are tightly controlled and not discussed much. Common vestibular disorders can cause vertigo and dizziness, but that is easy to diagnose and treat and is not serious. I didn’t read that HRC had ear inbalance problems.
She’s way overweight through the hips and lower body…has trouble pulling her weight up stairs. A year of more ago there was a vid of her falling at the top of the stairs going into a plane. She wasn’t strong enough to get up off of the floor without help from others. I think her health is going to become a major issue in this campaign…as if she needed more problems.
Kaine looks like a fairly good choice on that account…he has a physicality that appears fairly quick and healthy without looking so young that he appears callow in any way.

“She’s way overweight through the hips and lower body.”
You handled that with taste.
I tried…
AG
hey, you forgot to mention Janet Reno!
Seeing as how this whole campaign is turning into some sort of snarkfest and so much of the snark is very lame, I am never sure when anybody is being serious.
So…why should I mention Janet Reno?
AG
… compared with Melania and Ivanka [male gaze]
a) Neither of them are running for POTUS and both of them are much younger than HRC.
b) Women that dress provocatively shouldn’t expect to be taken seriously. (Although, many women have learned that a slight suggestive hint in dress can tip the balance in favor of success in some isolated and rare instances. Damn, I still miss that red dress.)
Whatever. It’s kept under wraps. Could be minor, NBD. Or just serious enough that if known would give voters pause. Wouldn’t be the first time that a presidential candidate hasn’t disclosed known health issues. FDR, JFK, Reagan. Or continued in office after being debilitated, Wilson and Reagan.
Not that the public would make an informed and rational decision if the health issue were disclosed. Health should correctly have eliminated Tsongas in ’92 before IA and NH. When the public did know in ’72, they got it completely wrong — Eagleton was fine.
HRC does have hypothyroidism. Easily treated and non-life threatening. HRC’s recorded moments of being testy and exhibiting fatigue are likely later in the day as thyroid level decreases. Again minor, but it can be unpleasant to be around.
karl,
Right wing sources mention her excessive alcohol usage and the informal intervention about drinking prior to the primary
Such an alleged problem would add to and complicate her symptom presentation
Garbage. Best not to repeat.
Even for someone as carefully stage managed as HRC, all unmistakable signs of serious substance abuse couldn’t be covered up. She’s not a teetotaler, but if she had a problem with alcohol, she would never be publicly seen with a drink in her hand.
“Does anyone actually believe that is true? Seriously? “
Head in the sand.
As Marie said, she has people to handle that. Now the next question should be who on HRC campaign was told or discussed it over drinks or lunch. Because you know that such “great” ideas should be shared.

John Kiriakou The DNC Email Leaks: The Gift That Keeps On Feeding Distrust
FWIW – In Kiriakou’s opinion, the “Putin/Russia did it” allegation is likely false for practical political reasons.
