Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Nyack, New York 2nd Empire Victorian. The photo I’m using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I began to fill in the various elements using thin layers of paint. Note the yellow on the lit portion of the house and shaded blue portion. Green behind and at the base frames things nicely. I’m not yet sure how the pavement and driveway will appear. I’ll figure that out as we go along.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Open it is.
Just a quick message to say hello. I am up to my eyeballs this week. Take care.
I’m back from Nebraska. Drove straight through from Lincoln to San Diego in one shot. 23.5 hours.
Not the smartest thing I’ve ever done.

Somebody asked for video,
When I was considerably younger I could do stuff like that. Night vision is pretty much gone at this point, so once it gets too much past sundown I have to stop wherever I end up. Road trips are now strictly early to rise early to bed.
Very wise.
I was seeing things out of the corners of my eyes from about 3am to dawn. I think I saw lots of bats in Utah.
America is very beautiful, VERY big, and very very empty. If I go to Nationals next year I have promised my self to come back at a leisurely pace, turn left in the Rockies and wander through the San Juan Mountains for a couple days.

Quite a drive! We went from Flagstaff to Kanab, Utah in a few hours. That’s enough for me.
