Coincidence?
I don’t buy it.

Unfortunately for her, the campaign spokesthing had already said it was “overheating”.
This means one of the following:
None of these reflect well on the candidate. And they squander whatever gain she might have accrued by having the media talk for a day or two about what portion of Trump’s supporters are racist.
So now, where people assumed she was dishonest, they will now believe she’s dishonest and sickly.
Well played, Madame Secretary.
Well, whether she does in fact have pneumonia, and whether it had anything to do with today’s fiasco, I am now satisfied that the campaign has concerns about its candidate’s neurological health.
http://www.boomantribune.com/?op=displaystory;sid=2016/9/11/19843/0978
Any time someone says they are light headed, dizzy, or falls down, you administer a neuro assessment, or you are grossly negligent as a health care professional.
I’m sorry, but that is an unacceptable statement. The entire point of this comment thread is to demonstrate that Hillary Clinton is dying of pneumonia, or has Parkinson’s disease, or maybe even rabies. Anything you write questioning those “diagnoses” is unacceptable.
She hasn’t been vaccinated with both vaccines? It’s free from Medicare and every Pharmacy is eager to do it.
Silly rabbit!!!
Vaccine Trix are for kids!!!
AG
Since HRC was given antibiotics for her pneumonia, I assume she has a bacterial form of pneumonia. The vaccines are given to protect against many strains of the pneumococcus (Streptococcus pneumoniae) bacterium.
You can’t tell without a culture. The standard procedure at emergency rooms is to give antibiotics in case of bacterial pneumonia. There used to be no treatment for viral pneumonia but I believe there now are anti-viral agents.
Vaccines for what exactly? Unclear.
Pneumovax and Prevnar. Obviously you haven’t had either and are a danger to public health.
This will be an issue. Might be best for everyone if she stepped down and Tim Kaine became the nominee.
Sure would freak the hell out of the journos.
He’d come across like a breath of fresh air, too.
But Hillary won’t drop out, unfortunately
well, he can’t because he didn’t go through the primary. no one voted for him
There must be something in the rules of both parties that defines whose name can be placed in nomination at the convention. Must the person have declared as a presidential candidate (and done all the FEC filings)? And is there a deadline for doing that? Perhaps that is what would eliminate Kaine and Biden from consideration and not that he received no primary or caucus votes. The power at the conclusion of the primary season is with the delegates and the pledged delegates are only bound through the first roll call. That would explain for me why so many candidates formally only suspend their campaigns when they run out of money.
Struggle to come up with a scenario where Kaine could be the nominee and that it would also be viewed as legitimate.
“Rules?”
What “rules?”
Are there no rules against the underhanded tactics that the DNC applied to Bernie Sanders’s campaign?
Are they so lax that an (assuredly temporary as long as HRC wins) demotion of boss lady Debbie Wasserman Schultz is enough to assuage the rule keepers?
Oh.
Are we now guilty until proven innocent unless of course we are members of the ruling clique, at which point we are innocent no matter whether we are proven guilty or not?
Oh.
Nevermind.
Yore freind…

Appears that we’re both wrong on this. The Rules
Primaries/caucuses, convention delegates, candidacy doesn’t matter when a replacement nominee is needed. The Democratic National Committee is the sole power in that event.
>>Might be best for everyone if she stepped down and Tim Kaine became the nominee.
fucking worst idea ever, thanks a lot.
short of a diagnosis of late-stage cancer, parachuting in a candidate that didn’t win a single primary would only be best for Republicans.
The mechanics of how that (substituting Kaine for the top of the ticket) would even be possible elude me.
Have to wonder what the Democratic Party would have done in ’08 if Edwards had become the nominee and his “love child” wasn’t made public until September or October.
I repeat:
There are no “rules”…except whatever you can get away with.
Bet on it.
AG
Edwards – whoah!
but yes, seems there are two items 1- how to make a change 2- how to make the change and keep dem voters on board. Bernie with Kaine for vp?
Here it is
What lawyerly blather!!! (Emphases mine)
Or may not.
How long can that be postponed?
Define “reasonable notice.”
So? If “such proposed action” has already been decided and “proposed” by the “special meeters,” why do they need to meet?
What the fuck does that mean? The whole preceding set of bullshit can be somehow “notwithstanded?”
Please!!!
Anybody here…or anywhere else…have a hard copy of those “Bylaws?”
I thought not…
Lawerly bullshit, cubed.
Twice.
Three times, even.
Disgusting.
But typical.
Wonder why we are in trouble?
Consider what I am saying.
Please.

Answered my question which was simply what is the method for the Democratic Party to fill a vacancy in the POTUS or VP nomination. Haven’t a clue what you’re going on about or why the answer angered you.
Yes. It answered your question by bringing up any number of other questions, Marie.

Presumably there would also be the issue of state deadlines to place a candidate’s name on the ballot. Do states have laws dealing with replacing a candidate who dies or is incapacitated? I just tried searching the Oregon Secretary of State’s website but came up with nothing. From what I have read elsewhere, such as here, political party rules would apply for picking a replacement candidate…as in the item that Marie3 provided, and which you dismissed as irrelevant.
LINK TO DNC BYLAWS.
Nothing short of her losing the cognitive function necessary to repeat the oath of office would prevent Hillary Clinton from staying in.
The charitable view is that she’s worked very hard for it.
frankly I feel really bad for her; if it is something serious, who wouldn’t push themselves nevertheless being so close and all.
I understand your comment, but it’s best to concentrate on what you did achieve, not what you didn’t achieve.
iirc the word used when it became known that Edwards did have a “love child” that he denied while running as a candidate for the presidential nomination was narcissistic. A decent person running for office would never put their own aspirations above the good of the people.
When do we start hearing the draft-Biden calls?
Another link discussing R and D party mechanisms for replacing a presidential candidate.
I saw the film on ABC News this morning. Honestly, it looked more like one of my son-in-law’s alcoholic fits to me with the stiffness and bobbing back and forth. When you collapse from pneumonia, which has happened to my wife, you go limp, not rigid and you don’t bob forward and back stiffly.
I don’t think it’s alcohol induced, but could be a brain tumor or something like that.
No, no, no! It’s pneumonia! You know how you know it’s pneumonia? Because everyone on the campaign is getting pneumonia!
http://www.people.com/article/hillary-clinton-staff-sick-pneumonia?xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag
And why did no one hear about this massive outbreak of pneumonia in the Clinton campaign until now?
…
No more questions!
Have you ever stood up too quickly and almost fainted?
If so, you recall that you quickly lose and gain and lose and gain control of your legs, leading you to stagger as you try to balance and to reach for something to steady you.
I have had this happen, and so far have not been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Maybe you just want to damage her anyway you can. But blog comments are overrated for this purpose.
No, I haven’t.
I didn’t see her stagger and I didn’t see her try to grab anything. I saw her rigid body being carried while her head bobbed stiffly fore and aft. That’s what I saw in a very brief film clip. If she had control of her body even staggering, ABC News didn’t show it. That’s all I’m saying. What I saw on what ABC choose to show. I’ve seen my son-in-law have those seizures several times and that’s what her motions instantly reminded me of. I’m not a doctor but I’ve seen a lot of people stagger and faint, from standing at attention with knees locked and from alcoholic coma, and they don’t go rigid and bob their heads rhythmically. I’ve heard of people fainting from dehydration, but have never personally seen it.
If she was limp and lolling, ABC, for whatever reason, didn’t show it. I have seen people who were hurt and weak being carried of helped to stand. they always leaned against the person helping them, especially with their head. Their head was never held rigidly upright.
I don’t think I can damage her any more than her own actions and words have damaged her. If she has ever told the truth in her life, it must have been by accident. That’s on HER, not ME. Her false claim of being under fire in Bosnia is enough reason to deny her any public job.
you didn’t see anything of the kind, which is why I am warning you now, Voice. You’re trolling, and I won’t tolerate trolling even from longtime users with valid beefs about the Democratic nominee.
She was being held by Huma Abedin, and when asked to walk, she was wobbly. When she stepped off the curb, she nearly face planted and was caught and helped into the van.
If you don’t have your legs because you’re feeling light-headed and you have to step off a curb, that can cause your legs to collapse and then your head pitches forward.
That’s all you saw, and all this bullshit about seeing anything more than is just trouble-making for your own amusement.
So, knock it off.
Did you watch ABC News at 4:58AM this morning? Maybe it’s on the internet. I did say repeatedly that it was short and maybe ABC wasn’t showing us everything. The major media have a knack of editing things to show what they want and I thought I made that clear.
I’m not referring to whatever video you posted. I never watch video on Windows due to the Mozilla security warning about doing so.
No matter what, the campaign claque could have for once at least have admitted they weren’t truthful instead of blathering about regrets for not having handled her pneumonia better. For them everything is manipulation and perception. I’ve witnessed several people who had pneumonia and they didn’t go around acting like nothing was going on: they were really sick, in bed! She has pneumonia? Do healthy people go around with a neurologist next to them?
The media forces them to utter regrets regardless of how truthful they are; it is the easiest way to get the media story shut down. Pretend to fess up.
Walking pneumonia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atypical_pneumonia
Also, too:
http://www.medicinenet.com/pneumonia_vs_walking_pneumonia-page2/views.htm
It’s the type of pneumonia that a goal-oriented, determined individual, not feeling especially ill, would likely try to power through rather than going to bed.
Got it. Personal ambition knows no limits.
No, no one will remove you from the angst of who the next President is going to be. And it is still likely to be Clinton rather than Trump.
But some third party Bernie supporters were about already to call a hearse and move back to the Democratic Party until they found out how a replacement actual was chosen — we saw it in action with Vice President Eagleton’s replacement.
I guess I’m old enough to have had walking pneumonia and have to constantly monitor my hydration.
I suppose next there will be stories about Depends (or will that be the media’s next one on Trump’s health).
I don’t think she is dropping out of the campaign.
Time to start worrying about what she will say in debates.
Yu write:
Yes…of course. And it’s also time to start worrying about how she will look, act (and most importantly react) in the debates.
Remember…just 24 hours before essentially falling off of her own feet from exhaustion she was up on the podium looklng fresh as a daisy but making a total fool of herself with her “Deplorables!!!” thing. Now…it’s been over 30 years since I did anything other than a couple of glasses of wine at dinner and one or two cups of strong coffee during the day, but the 20 years before then? Bet on it, I know my drugs!!! There are common drugs…and not so common ones…that can practically resuscitate a corpse for a few hours, and Doctor Feelgoods galore who will prescribe and administer them, especially to the rich and powerful.
So there she is, dragging her ass from a persistent lung problem of one sort or another and under pressut=re from all sides to excel. So whomever her own Dr. Feelgood may be says…”Don’t worry, Hill…this will get you through the night!!!”
But what he or she doesn’t tell her is something that aware druggies have known since at least the ’60s. Whatever energies the drug lays on whatever functions it affects positively, those energies must be taken from another area of that person’s system, often with delayed and seriously deleterious effects. So here she is up on the podium and she lays out the “Deplorables” line. “Wheeeee, I said it!!!”Was it something her handlers told her to say? If it was, they’re stoned too. If it wasn’t you could probably hear the groans coming out of whatever room in which they were watching that performance when she said that. Nor can anybody tell her to skip the upcoming 9/11 remembrance for the reason that she’s stressed herself out enough already, fucking up on the podium. I mean…first of all, she’ s Hillary fucking Clinton , right??? She’s running for president and her only opposition is sure to be there. If she doesn’t show, the whispers will continue to waft anyway. So she tries to get a good night’s sleep…maybe w/some more Big Pharma help (They all do it…just look at their travel schedules for all you need to know on that subject. I have been a professional traveler for almost 50 years and baby, if i tried to keep up their travel pace I’d be on my ass in two weeks.) Even if she hasn’t been using any helpers, the sheer effort of hyping her 69-year-old ass through the gauntlet that she is running would wear her down eventually. Drugs only speed up the process.
So one way of another…she took it too far and essentially collapsed in public.
Snd she hasn’t even hit the really hard parts.
Dealing with a practiced bully like Trump?
Oy!!!
Later, having to deal with people who make Trump look like an amateur in the bullying department?
People who learned their arts in the back streets of East Berlin during the Cold War?
Like…ohhhh, say:
I don’t think so!!!
Trump will “negotiate.” Translation…he’ll surrender at a profit.
HRC?
Outta her class completely!!!
Watch.

I had it, too. Thing is, you don’t cough. That is how it is missed. You run hotter, though.

Oops, wrong link.

This place really is full of republican cretins.

This remark is ever so lame, nalbar. Evidently you can’t come up with anything better. Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me. The big godfather of party unity at all costs in the public arena was none other than the glorious Republican Ronald Reagan, wasn’t it? In the English language needles have heads. Do you deny it?
nalbar, your lame remake is in fact ‘deplorable’. Calling names seems to have become a Democratic tactic for making electoral hay. So now I do it too. Does it work? You tell me: what could possibly be the positive effect of calling Trump supporters ‘deplorable’. Not even the lawyerly HRC could answer that question satisfactorily. No, she’d just come up with another sleight of hand.
Walking pneumonia: Pneumonia doesn’t walk, but patients with “walking pneumonia” do!) is an imprecise term used to describe a person with symptoms of pneumonia that are “mild” enough to allow people to do daily activities and do not require patient hospitalization; it does not describe the cause of the pneumonia-like symptoms and is often used as a preliminary diagnosis without good evidence (a chest X-ray or other tests) that pneumonia is actually present. The major difference between pneumonia and walking pneumonia are the severity of symptoms, with walking pneumonia having the least severe symptoms in most individuals.
Atypical pneumonia: The meaning of this word is unfortunately multiple, and it changes depending on the context in which it is used. For example, atypical pneumonia is used by some medical personnel to mean mild or “walking” pneumonia, while others use it to describe pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
In 1944, Eaton was credited with discovering a specific agent, coined Eaton’s agent, as the principal cause of primary atypical pneumonia.[3] First thought to be a virus, Eaton’s agent was proved to be a Mycoplasma species in 1961. This is the common descriptor of walking pneumonia today. It has a slow onset of symptoms.
I think it is an age thing. I have no idea which agent caused mine, but doubt it was Mycoplasma–mine responded to common antibiotics of the period. I have seen puppies with blue gums and no cough. Pneumonia.
I have not seen HC’s pneumonia describes as “walking pneumonia”. Have you? So wonder why my academic discussion with Tarheel Dem is being framed as an attack on HC?
Mine, if the truth works to her disadvantage, then it’s an attack on her. Don’t you get it yet, she’s divine, above criticism, infallible, I suppose. But she’s not at all, and now we are where we are: with two really crumby candidates. HR is not a lady of conviction, she’s a lady of corporate organization and exploitation which means that hundreds, if not thousands, of hangers-on are demanding that she reward them and just do that they have to to push her through to end, even if it hardly lastsher beyond the swearing-in ceremony. Have you ever heard the saying that ‘the first victim of war is the truth’?
