what is it that concerns you vis-a-vis the tone?
it appears to me that harry’s just telling the truth. perhaps your concerns parallel mine, that, at the end of the day, hrc and campaign are going to snatch defeat from the jaws of what should have been a slam dunk victory of an election.
but here we are, two of the most loathed candidates in modern history.
perhaps the two party system, as it is currently constituted and realized, really is broken beyond repair.
It’s an Atriosism, I’m not actually concerned about Harry Reid’s tone.
I’m actually kind of concerned about the tone in the article in the post. Yucking it up as if there are no consequences to a Trump president, just enjoying the back and forth as if it’s a game.
Hillary is certainly not my favorite candidate ever, but Trump is a total pig, a narcissistic sociopath who will burn down our democracy, I simply cannot understand, even a little bit, how anyone could either not know who they are voting for or could choose to sit this one out.
There are millions of people – very real people – whose lives will be much worse off than they are now, whose lives will be more at risk than they are now.
This is not a game.
I didn’t read the linked article, so not endorsing what you said about its “tone”; but the rest, yeah, what you said.)
Enjoy the humour. Politics is the new show business. Policy is for wonks and administrators. Horse races are for sports enthusiasts. Elections are for entertainment. Reality TV has become the dominant reality. Truth is for philosophers. Lies are just about spreading narratives the other side has to spend time and money to deny. They are a legitimate weapon of war once you have demonized the opposition. The winner is the one who has unleashed the best lies – and received the highest audience ratings. Trump is the master of this new métier and ahead of his time… All hail to the Chief. Hillary is but a legacy project of the old order.
