Been many moons since I last made it through that part of the US. Never quite to the Grand Canyon, but certainly have seen a good deal of the desert scenery. If circumstances are favorable, we’d love to visit the Grand Canyon at least once to say we did it.
It’s a large city and not a skyscraper to be found. There are plenty of sizable buildings in Budapest, but nothing like, say Chicago. I especially loved walking around the Jewish Quarter. Some beautiful architecture. The Holocaust Memorial Center was well worth a visit. Hoping to make it back some day.
Our part of Indiana is hilly, with extensive hardwood forest. It was the once the southern edge of the glacial ice pack and the melting and runoff carved up the landscape quite nicely.
Thank you. I love the environment here and we’re also very close to Indiana University with all its cultural offerings. The music school is excellent. Mrs. ID loves the opera and there’s a blues fest just up the road for me.
And I’d so much love to hear from Andi F, Jim F, Alice, and Olivia. You, among many more, may not have realized how much your presence here meant to me, but it meant a lot. I am thankful for the time you were here and the contributions you were willing to make. I hope you all are well, wherever you are and that if you are lurking that perhaps you’ll say hello.
For those who might still remember and care, this fall marks the 10th anniversary that Ductape Fatwa left us forever. I still have a lot of pleasant memories of his time here and elsewhere on the Internet Tubes.
We were out at the canyon a few weeks ago. This on the north rim.

Nothing so amazing as that Grand Canyon shot, just this:
You captured the horse’s movement nicely.
And for you dog lovers:
A panoramic photo of Budapest overlooking the Danube River. I took this one two years ago.
And not a single skyscraper in sight. I was in NYC this past weekend. The west side building boom is producing buildings of dizzying heights.

Here’s a few of my favorites from Photo Fairs & Flogs long gone by. They’re all either right next door or within a few miles of home.
Brown county must be very picturesque.

Gorgeous pictures.

Dang, I should crop the power line out of the “lonesome pine” shot.
Thanks for this diary b2! It is much needed around here.

Check out the 40 acres more or less blog. AndI is there.

Ad now for something completely different: Sand on the beach.
That first one looks almost like fish scales.
I was thinking multi-segmented insect, maybe. Sand centipede.
I can imagine some photographers here are providing you with some subjects for upcoming paintings, if you so desire. 🙂
