A Small Correction to Booman’s Most Recent Post. (1/22/17)

Booman posted a one sentence message today.

This shit just gets better and better.

I think that his post might have been more accurate if he had written:

This shit just gets deeper and deeper.

From both sides of the PermaGov.

It ain’t over yet, either.

Read on.
It is my own observation that if the position of the media was somehow turned on its head because the media’s owners and controllers almost unanimously opposed the Clintons instead of the Trumpers, the same depth of shit would be equally easy to pile up around the Clinton dealings.

This is by no means a defense of what the Trump camp is about, it is simply a commentary on the total dishonesty of the U.S. and its corporate culture in general. I am actually grateful for what happened in the 2016 election, because it stuck a big stick into the hornet’s nest of the bipartisan Deep State and the result has been…for the very first time…a clear picture of who really allies with whom. When John McCain becomes the WAPO poster boy for anti-Trump maneuvering and the New Republic and Wall Street Journal go after the same people as do the NY Times and The Atlantic, The U.S. has turned a corner as far as the make believe “two-party system” and its media are concerned.

You were right, all of you who opposed Trump and supported Hillary Clinton.

The mainstream Democrat/Republican Permanent Government is certainly a “lesser evil” than is the Trump gang. It is bigger, smarter, richer and infinitely more well organized at the very least, regardless of its mistakes during the primaries and election. It ran into the perfect storm during the election with Trump. So it goes sometimes. But…even after the worst storms, things eventually get rebuilt.

That’s what is happening now.

The PermaGov and its media complex are now making up for lost time and opportunities, and I do not expect Trump’s presidency to survive the present massive and unrelenting attack that is now underway. Even if he avoids impeachment or resignation, his presidency is in more trouble after its first couple of months that has been any other presidency in modern American history. I expect that…even if should survive four years in the position of president…his only remaining power will be reduced to flailing Twitterisms and increasingly lame public appearances. He won’t even be able to mount some kind of “wag the dog” emergency, because the intelligence services and the military simply won’t cooperate in the effort. He is now approaching the unenviable position of becoming the earliest lame duck president in history.

However, the question remains…how much less of an evil is the Permanent Government?

This is necessarily followed by a second question:

Now that the PermaGov has let fall its magic cloak of bipartisanship with its concerted attack on Trump, will it be able to regain that particular disguise at the same effective level that it has maintained since at least the assassination years?

It is quite possible that it will be able to do so. Its media still has a firm, trance-producing grasp on some percentage of the U.S. public, witness its success so far in demonizing an admitted devil in Trump.

But when will the worm turn?

When will “just enough” turn into “too much?”

Therein lies the interest over the next several years.

Will such a large percentage of the American public start to distrust the mass media so deeply…my beloved “NEWSTRIKE!!!” idea…that they become a majority force in the country?

Will the Democratic Party actually be taken over by people who oppose the Permanent Government? Not likely, given the amount of money that the corporate world has available to throw around. And if that did happen, would that money not start flowing irresistibly to the Republican Party? Seems like it would, to me.

Or…will a true third party arise, using social media as its revenue source and information disseminator?

Could happen…

Stay tuned.

And while you’re at it…try to be happy that you were born(e) into interesting times.

Never a dull moment, eh?

Later…
