   The Oscars are happening tonight and they’ll say mean things about him. How do you expect him to handle two crises at once like that?

   I don’t know why you’d doubt Trump’s secret plan to defeat Isis.

   “When I do come up with a plan that I like and that perhaps agrees with mine, or maybe doesn’t, I may love what the generals come back with,” Trump said.

   “I have a plan, but I don’t want to ― look, I have a very substantial chance of winning, make America great again,” he continued. “We’re going to make America great again. I have a substantial chance of winning. If I win, I don’t want to broadcast to the enemy exactly what my plan is.”

   “Let me tell you, if I like maybe a combination of my plan or the generals’ plan, if I like their plan, I’m not going to call you up and say, we have a great plan,” he added. “This is what Obama does. We’re going to leave Iraq on a certain date.”

   On Tuesday, in a speech on foreign policy, Trump announced he would give the military’s top generals 30 days to submit a plan for soundly defeating ISIS.

   But in his interview with NBC on Wednesday, Trump knocked the very same generals, claiming they “have been reduced to rubble” under President Barack Obama.

   Asked whether he would seek advice from the same generals ― generals he’s claimed know less about ISIS than he does ― Trump suggested a shakeup in the military.

   “They’d probably be different generals,” he said.

   So, nothing to worry about! It’s been 30 days, the secret plan is well in hand, everything is under control.

     Maybe the battle for Mosul will be over by the time his plan is finished and then he can declare the victory in Mosul as one he planned and executed.

   1. Obama fucked it up with fake plans

   or

   2. The first thing I told the generals was how we could win this thing.

   That’s how any con man plays the marks.

   He is paying attention cause he needs to know who to blame for the loss or how much to praise himself for the win. He can blame Obama or the Iraqi military or both for any loss depending on his mood at the time.

   It’s like when McCain ran for POTUS in 2008.  He kept claiming that he – and only he – knew exactly how to defeat Al Qaeda (ISIS not having been invented yet) in the ME.  But I guess McCain would only reveal his super secret, but super duper effective, way of defeating AQ and thus bringing peace to the ME (which NeoCONs like McCain don’t want anyway) if he won POTUS.

   So since he didn’t win, he refused to share his secret sauce with Obama.

   Thanks, Obama!

   It’ll be the same with Trump.  He’s bragged that he knows exactly how to deal with ISIS.  His voters will soon forget that he ever said this, and it won’t matter anyway.  

   Frankly, the Pentagon probably far prefers it if Trump plays golf and ignores what’s happening “over there.”  Who can blame them?

   Well, as all here point out, this raises the existential question of the Trump presidency: do you want an incompetent, egomaniacal boss to pay attention to something important, or ignore it?

   Also, too, Herr Hitler paid an enormous amount of attention to military affairs and operations.

   Didn’t work out so well….

     Well, his micro-managing did go a long way to bringing him down, but there was a helluva lot of collateral damage along the way.
