Anyone want to hazard a guess (or, even better, an expert opinion) about the impact the Graham-Cassidy proposal will have on the economy?
My inexpert opinion is that it will likely dampen demand as folks start saving for uncovered health contingencies.
Oddly enough, we’ve cut back on spending for anything but necessities in our household since this spring. My guess is we’ll cut back even more if that monstrosity of a bill passes. What little I can save for uncovered contingencies – as you put it – is not nearly enough. About all I think I am doing now is making a statement that if the government’s elected “leaders” can take away tangible benefits from folks like me, well, I do have one power however limited – and that is to do my part to tank the economy & consume less.
