It’s Thanksgiving weekend, so I am expecting that the traffic will be a little light.
I’ve been following Jah Wobble’s work since his stint with PiL. Seriously, Second Edition was lit, as some of the younger folks might say. What’s fun to listen to is how he has continued to synthesize his early influences with newer influences. His most recent stuff at times can sound quite reminiscent of mid-1970s jazz fusion at its finest. Chill but never boring.
In a sense, he’d probably be considered something of a legacy act. His days of fame are way behind him. But he keeps creating new tunes and if he ever were to play anywhere near me, I know I would not need to shell out a grand to take my spouse out for date night.
So enjoy your weekend. Drop by if you can.
