Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Cape May, New Jersey street scene. The photo that I’m using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I’ve begun to add some paint to the canvas. I have outlined the 3 buildings in blue. Filling in the sky and right side structure in the same color gives me an idea of how things will look. Note that the lit areas have been left white to help in that regard. Next week some other colors.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here. (Currently under construction.)
Open it is.
Looks like your old Painting Palooza blog really took a beating when Photobucket decided to hold photos hostage. I can imagine reconstructing it will be quite the undertaking.
It’s mostly lost forever. I’ve been using tinypic since then. I hope that it stays simple and free.
I keep hoping that I can get away with Flickr for as long as possible. I had a Photobucket account once, but after they started charging several hundred dollars per year to allow us to share photos, I just deleted my account altogether. Hopefully tinypic keeps working as well.
I kept copies of all my photos posted there, so no personal loss for me. I mourn the contributions of all the other BTers that are lost to us – for me especially, the ones posted by hurria of a Syria we will never set eyes on again.
That’s the real tragic part. We lost some beautiful photos that were part of our collective memory of how things are, were, could be, and should be. Losing hurria’s work is a damn shame. So much lost. Let’s hope what we rebuild that is new lasts a bit better.
