Regarding the criminality quite obviously pervading the Trump administration, Booman asks:
My answer:
No.
Of course not.
The Trump administration is an attempt to reign over the swamp, not drain it. Thus the opposition from veteran swamp dwellers of almost every persuasion except wannabes.
Everything was going swimmingly for the swamp dwellers until Trump showed up with his band of gangsters. The current gangs have been lapping up the profits since…at least since…the Clinton I administration. Then suddenly this new, heretofore small-time thief in town…and believe it, the profits that Trump and his cohorts had been making pre-presidency recede into small time shakedowns compared to the real, globalist, Post-War/PermaWar-enforced theft of the previous 70 years or so …this new thief in town quite unexpectedly manages to take over the position of Boss of All Bosses. Of course, he had some effectively shady help from any number of interests…Eric Prince and other members of the new Murder Incorporated gangs just for starters, and the equally criminal Russian government-based mobsters…but there he was, the new Teflon (Don)…err, ahh…Teflon Donald, that is.
Does anyone here really believe that if a concentrated investigative effort and media slamming on the level that has been directed at Trump had been instead directed at the powers behind the DNC and RNC and the leasers…Damn!!! I meant leaders…of Congress, an equal (more than likely greater) amount of criminality would have been unearthed?
Please!!!
I got this bridge for sale…
AG
P.S. While I’m on the subject of bridges…a short teaching joke about the different criminal styles prevalent in the U.S. and Russia, told to me by a wise Russian friend:
Two big time, corporate-level international executives met in NYC at a conference. They hit it off and started hanging out together…an American and a Russian. On a break from the meetings one day they took a walk along the East River promenade in midtown. The Russian said to the American “By the way, Michael, I’ve been meaning to ask you…how did you start your accumulation of wealth?” The American answered by pointing upriver and saying “See that bridge? I got the contract to build that bridge and cut every corner possible…cheap materials, union bribes, inspector bribes, incompetent labor, the works…when I built it. I made millions on that bridge alone, and using money laundering techniques I invested it in whatever I could get my hands on, legal or illegal. Now? Here I am in the Fortune 500!!!” The Russian nodded approvingly and said no more on the subject.
Several years later they met again at a conference in Russia. They ended up walking along the Volga on another break, and the American said “I’ve been meaning to ask you the same question, Igor. How did you initially establish your fortune?” The Russian answered “I too was hired to build a bridge. He pointed upriver and said “See that bridge?” The American looked upriver and then said “I don’t see any bridge, Igor!” And the Russian answered “Ah HAH!!! Now you’re beginning to understand the Russian way to wealth!!!”
End of story.
