Change of pace this week! Like many Americans, I went to see Avengers: Infinity War during the opening weekend. I’ll keep commentary about the film to a minimum simply to avoid too many spoilers for those who have not yet gone. I think we all knew that The Guardians of the Galaxy all make an appearance in the film, and if they make an appearance, you know how that influences the film’s soundtrack. Beyond that, let’s just say “I am Groot,” and get on with it. Here’s a classic jam from The Spinners that makes its way into the new Avengers film:
I’ll try to post more later as time permits.
From the first Guardians of the Galaxy film soundtrack. Awesome mixtape indeed. I remember mixtapes.
The box office performance of “Infinity War” deserves a drink. Tipsy Bartender just happens to have four of them from the very first movie in the series six years ago: The Avengers Cocktails.
Drink up to superheroes!
Lingonberry vodka? Wow, might be hard to find in a lot of localities. I had the same reaction as our bartender!
Well, lingonberries are very Scandinavian, as is the mead. I agree with Skyy; cherry vodka should work just about as well and would be a lot easier to find.
Because Groot is my favorite Marvel character these days:
From the closing credits to The Guardians of the Galaxy – and yes, you should have seen this already.
More baby Groot, from the opening scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
That scene won an award from the Visual Effects Society.
As well it should. That was just such a fun, well-put together scene.
