Favorite quote - "There are no innocents. There are, however, different degrees of responsibility" (Lisbeth Salander, from Stieg Larsson's original Millennium Trilogy).
Hi! Was out earlier tonight taking photos of some of the flooding going on near me. Looks like my river will be at near historic levels by Friday. Could be far worse if the barges that broke loose north of the Webbers Falls dam do any damage to that dam. Looks like there were also some tornadoes north of us. Pretty awful.
I know it’s not midweek anymore, but I’ll keep this one going for a bit. Here is some more areal footage of the flooding so far in my community. It will be a while before we know the full extent of the damage to some treasured recreational areas, homes, and life in its many forms. The weather systems that have dominated the central part of the US seem more appropriate for mid-winter. These strong, slow moving systems are one thing in the winter, but quite another when drawing on warm humid air (Gulf of Mexico influence mostly, but also the large river valleys) this late into the spring. We’re dealing with the consequences in numerous areas.

Late as it is, we’re in some afterparty territory, I suppose. So here’s a blast from the past:
