Despite the overwhelming evidence and need to address its “inevitable impacts,” a huge contingent of the newly-empowered GOP members of Congress do not believe in climate change to begin with. A survey by the Wonk Room’s Brad Johnson finds that a member of Congress from nearly every state in the union — the so-called “Climate Zombie Caucus” — explicitly reject the threat of man-made global warming. Of the incoming freshmen, 36 of 85 in the House and 11 of 13 in the Senate have publicly questioned the science and “there are no freshman Republicans, in the House or Senate, who publicly accept the scientific consensus that greenhouse pollution is an immediate threat,” Johnson found.
Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your mouth
Blowing down the backroads headin’ south
Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth
You’re an idiot, babe
It’s a wonder that you still know how to breathe.
The sailors couldn’t turn the ship into the wind, so they gave up and let it run before the gale.- Acts of the Apolstles 27:15
It was gravity which pulled us down and destiny which broke us apart
You tamed the lion in my cage but it just wasn’t enough to change my heart
Now everything’s a little upside down, as a matter of fact the wheels have stopped
What’s good is bad, what’s bad is good, you’ll find out when you reach the top
You’re on the bottom
Idiot wind, blowing through the buttons of our coats
Blowing through the letters that we wrote
Idiot wind, blowing through the dust upon our shelves
We’re idiots, babe
It’s a wonder we can even feed ourselves
Eeediots, babe:
If they are waiting for the movie version of climate change they may get it. This is happening faster then most of the climate models.
eh, maybe humans are overrated. Who needs them?
Its not that I don’t like people I just feel better when their not around. – Mickey Rourke “Barfly”
Anecdotal…give me the true data to support the “scientific consensus”…
Note that people on our side aren’t significantly brighter. In particular, the concepts “being on the right side” and “being brighter than someone” are not the same concept.
Stupidity applies to us as a nation, and that doesn’t in the least take from the fact that one side is right. Rather like the inanity of two short people arguing who’s taller.
Question…What is the ideal temperature of the Earth?
Is it its current temperature?
If so, how did we survive earlier eras where the Earth’s temperature was either significantly warmer or colder?
Can’t Global Warming only be condemned if we know for a fact that the Earth’s ideal temperature is equal to, or lower (bring on Global Cooling!) than Earth’s current temperature?
Just curious.
Also…”Climate Change” per se cannot be construed as “bad” because the climate has been in a continuous state of change for the last 4 Billion years!
