How could it be?
Up late or up early? Either way I hope you’re back asleep.
I woke up for a little while, knew we needed a new cafe, posted it, then went back to sleep.
I could stand to go back to sleep for a bit longer, but it’s Monday.
Did you get our cold weather and snow? We’ve got one more day of cold and then the warm up starts.
We did, although our cold weather gave us a very wet snow that melted as it landed. It’s really cold here today, though. I’m really ready for spring now.
Lucky for me, someone brewed beer yesterday and we have the heat up so the yeast in it will be happy and start fermenting.
We’ve also been enjoying a nice brown ale from last month’s brewing adventure. Yum.
Homemade beer sounds lovely (though lovelier a little later in the day) — I like darker, heavier brews so brown ale sounds very nice.
This brown ale was along the line of Samuel Smith’s…maybe someone needs to try an oatmeal stout knock-off recipe next. 🙂
The new beer is a pilsner, and will take a little longer to ferment and condition than the previous batches have. I think it might be more of an early summer brew.
Busy today? One of my missions for today is to find out where to get my hepatitis B vaccinations done on the cheap (a UofFl application requirement). Big fun.
Oooh, oatmeal stout — go for it! (Also, you do have a good memory).

Gar and Squeak
Oh, your black and white pictures are much, much nicer than mine. 😉
The Gar and Squeak sleeping series is just wonderful.
Luna has the prettiest eyes.
Yes, and she sure knows how to use them.
They are just way too cute! Especially now that their eyes are open and they’re more active.
Do you know which girl is going to be staying with you yet?
We won’t know until they are seven-weeks-old.
They’re beautiful, keres. Thank you!
Anytime, or at least anytime I have the time.
Drat.

Very lovely…to look at from afar. 😉
Welcome to your Monday.
It’s going to be 40 tomorrow and 50 on Wednesday so at least I won’t have to look at it close up for long. 🙂
That’s what photographs are for.
😉
This is a lovely one! Very inviting, if you ask me. Quite beautiful — maybe partially because it doesn’t last.
Thanks again, Andi.
Good morning Andi and SN. I’ll have to check back to see it later on.
If you are as tired of winter as I am, you’ll probably prefer to just skip looking at it at all. 😉
OK, the snow clearing part is getting old but there are some beautiful sights to see. Last week I saw 10 deer, in two groups of 5, while I was out on the Ice Age trail. Beautiful. Silent. If I hadn’t seen a bit of movement in peripheral vision, they’d have all gone by unnoticed. Big ones.
Sounds lovely. My favorite part of winter is how visible the snow makes the shapes of the land.
Unless there are two Ice Age trails, you must live in Wisconsin, in which case you have a lot more snow to be ready to be gone than I do (I’m in south central Indiana) and it’ll probably be gone later.
At the state dinner last night the governors were privileged to a set by Earth, Wind, & Fire. They opened with Boogie Wonderland.
Do the Tussle.
You’ll notice that the sides of the pen have gotten much, much higher.
Keep ’em coming!
I’ll be in Victoria until Friday late. I won’t be able to post the Dog Blog until I get back (unless someone else, hint Andi, wanted to start it).
But, but … I don’t have any PUPPIES!
Well, THAT sucks. Now I’ll prolly just sleep through my Thursday and Friday.
Morning/good night, keres. 🙂
Hey there’s Friday Foto Flogging!
And the theme is Random this week so there’s no excuse for not posting.
I usually post something, don’t I?
ARe you able to get into gmail this morning?
Now that you mention it, no.
Grrrr.
I’ve done a test. I use an email client and I can both send and get mail but if I try to connect to Gmail through my browser it doesn’t work.
What does that mean? 🙂
I have an email program (like Outlook Express or Thuderbird) that logs in and get my mail. I don’t use the browser to get or send mail.
Yes but I just reinforcing your good behavior (and wakefulness). 😉
Yep. I got some at 6 a.m.
What, last week wasn’t random? 🙂
Every week is random if you want to be. Olivia and I aren’t meek and mild and would chastise anyone for posting something other than the theme.
Good morning, ladies!
It’s busy here this morning. There was no one around last I checked by at 5.15 – up since 3.45, then got distracted by…wait for it…work! Grr. Anyway, it was actually productive, so now I get to go in late…(or leave early, or both) 🙂
Don’t you love it when you’ve accomplished something before the day has even begun?
OT, but I finally sewed the buttons on my little sweater yesterday-I’m only, what, 2 months behind curly? 🙂
So where’s the picture?
curly loves hers and I often see her use it.
I kind of woke up with a solution to a problematic issue – could not get to sleep again so could just as well write the stuff down.
I’ll have to get someone to take the picture later…
Were you dreaming about the problem when you solved it? Or was it a case of waking up and suddenly realizing what the solution was?
Ugh. It’s cold out and I have to drive CBtY to school this morning because he has a paper (course selection for next year) that needs to be signed and he keeps forgetting to bring it home.
Were you dreaming..
Possibly, it has happened before (I made major progress in my thesis that way) – but I rarely recall dreams, certainly none this morning.
I don’t usually rememeber my dreams either, but last week I had a bunch that I actually remebered when I woke up. Weird.
I don’t usually either. But I’ve had some very strange nightmares lately. Wierd.
That background processing is evil, isn’t it? 🙂
I once woke up at 2:30 in the morning with the thought “Shit, that code I wrote isn’t going to work at all”.
Yup, there have been some aha-moments like that, but mostly, I don’t recall the actual dream.
I’m not even sure it’s in the dreams or if it’s just hanging back there waiting for the right moment to get my attention.
Sometimes during the stress of the day we can’t process information smoothly. I think the total relaxation that occurs during sleep frees up parts of our brains that are preoccupied in waking hours.
I think that’s too. A lot of times when I’m struggling with something, I can go take the dogs for a short walk and when I come back, the answer will be obivous.
Gmail seems to be working again.
I think so too. And like Andi, for me sometimes the best problem-solving is accomplished by taking a walk or a bike ride, and letting my ideas ‘marinate’ for a little while. Usually the solution appears magically by the time I return home to the office.
