… Obama is becoming laughable and laying the groundwork for the greatest conservative populist reaction since the Reagan Revolution. […]
… I can’t recall a similarly disastrous start in a half-century (far worse than Bill Clinton’s initial slips). Obama immediately must lower the hope-and-change rhetoric, ignore Reid/Pelosi, drop the therapy, and accept the tragic view that the world abroad is not misunderstood but quite dangerous. And he must listen on foreign policy to his National Security Advisor, Billary, and Sec. of Defense. If he doesn’t quit the messianic style and perpetual campaign mode, and begin humbly governing, then he will devolve into Carterism—angry that the once-fawning press betrayed him while we the people, due to our American malaise, are to blame.
I highlighted Hanson’s rather amazing and stupefying conclusions to give you a taste of his peculiarly warped sense of political judgment, but if you really want to discover his basis for these statements, feel free to click on the link. But be forewarned: his screed is rather ugly and stupid in equal measures.
I Agree that Obama must ignore Reid and Pelosi. However, it’s because if he listens to them then he might become Carter. He needs to listen to Sanders and Dean if he wants real change.
You might want to add Krugman to the people he should listen to.
Who cares about the National Review Corner? They write what they are paid to write. And as of November 4, 2008, they have become irrelevant. Even William Buckley would disown them.
I guess that Hanson did the thorough historical research to justify his claims, huh. Right! Thought so. Like I said, irrelevant. And not worth our time anymore.
The louder the wankers quack the more I’m sure Obama is on the right track. If they were purring, I’d be running for the hills.
“Billary?”
Oh.
Ha.
Ha.
Ha.
This is a “clever” combining of Bill & Hillary Clinton’s names, suggesting that the two are really one. Funny, but I don’t remember the citizens of New York complaining about Bill’s excessive influence when Hillary was their Senator.
Funny. I thought 2008 was the “greatest conservative populist reaction since the Reagan Revolution.”
I’m sure it’s just around the corner now.
Its not the substance of these people its the fact of the ownership of the main media outlets is 10 – 1 against populism in any form. They are mostly owned by and rethugs. Most of the national media stars are now paid millions and are defacto rethugs as well. Anyone watch how embarrassing John King is or Wolf Blitzer?
The overall effect is cut Obama down via a thousand cuts. The CW is already that the stimulus is wasteful, etc. He has to go over the medias heads or no mater how bad the rethugs have been, he will lose. I don’t want a president Petraeus in 2012.
No Peloponnesian War reference?
