Booman, I was in the middle of making a comment to a diary just now, and suddenly got a black screen with red flashing writing, saying I had been hacked, various Chinese ideograms, George Bush, etc. flashed on. As I’ve not used e-mail for some time, downloaded nothing, I’m wondering if your site is under attack.
happened to me when i accidentally clicked on the Political Pet Chew Toys ad.
Yes, that’s exactly the screen I got, but it disappeared instantly and the site crashed. Maybe I clicked on it accidently, then. Thanks for the info, Manny.
prob Teach. Hope you’re having a good Sunday!
that’s weird. Their site has definitely been hacked.
like it, but on to more important matters: am i going to see you in d.c.? 🙂
signs point to yes.
numbers are growing! BostonJoe is even working on making it.
I. Can’t. Wait.
Bwahaha 🙂
Actually, it was me. I’d logged on as him, briefly, to see if I could get something to happen again, and then I forgot to sign off!
i remember we kept doing that at the west coast meetup last year. i’ve been known to keep the froggybottom suit on too long, as well. 😉
Gosh, I’d think that rubber would get too hot!
If you’ll wear the rubber suit to DC, no telling how many Pondwellers will come!
Oh..My..God!!
So many interpretations, so little courage :oP
as there are no compromising photographs this time around. hehehe
Lieberman, in spite of his promises, abandons new Orleans.
The 110th Congress has not done one thing to help the city’s desperate plight. In fact, they haven’t said one word about helping, fixing, sending money, even acknowledging that the city is in deep trouble..
Is this what the new Dems are made of- more of the same? How long will they continue to turn their backs on a city that needed help a year ago?
I got a kick out of an article that was linked at C&L titled The Metrosexual Superpower.
But the EU doesn’t have an equivalent of W in their group. So it is kinda of an unfair article, because W is not much of a diplomat…unless you trying hold a BBQ and want to know which beer is better.
He can’t even admit he made mistakes in Iraq, but said “mistakes were made in Iraq” not “I made mistakes..”
metrosexuals are so yesterday
countrysexuals are the new in guy
Da Bears!!!!
I completely missed the game and just saw the score.
For the record, I figured if the Seahawks were going to pull this one out, it would be a miracle. Looks like they did better than I expected, but that’s not saying much.
Nah Omir,
it was a good, competitive and evenly matched game. No major screw ups by either team, almost no penalties and a close score all the way. The Seahawks could have very easily won the game without miracles. It was just one of those whoever has the ball last wins kinda games.
I was mostly going by the lopsided score during the season when the Seahawks played the Bears, the fact that this was a home game for Chicago, and the way they played last week (and to be honest, several weeks before that). Last week they were just goot enough to win, but some of that being “good” was luck. You can’t be lucky forever.
I’m glad to hear they played well, though.
I want to ask a question. Can the state of Conn. recall leiberman? I think he has failed those who voted for him. He has lied during his election and has gone back on the words he said. Can they recall him or fire him in any fashion to get rid of him?
But I have been wondering about that myself the last few days.
I stepped outside my bubble last night and went to a corpy multiscreen theater for the first time in years. What a freak show! Horrible prices, zombie-like patrons and commercials for desperate organizations before the show: network tv-if they spent as much money on talent, writing, etc. as they do on the ads they wouldn’t need the ads. The National Guard-everyone in the promo looked 16. I couldn’t restrain myself and yelled “DON’T BE STUPID!” Yet another Spiderman movie (yawn). Then a number of trailers the theme of each seemed to be BE AFRAID of EVERYTHING (serial killers, government agents, cute women who turn into werewolves, etc.) Yes terrified populations are so easy to control.
On to the main feature: Zhang Yimou’s Curse of the Golden Flower starring Gong Li and Chow Yun Fat. Ever since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Chinese directors who should know better keep trying to outdo each other in the pseudohistorical martial arts genre. I kept trying to remember the other ones and couldn’t-they all ran together in memory. In this one the colors and costumes were amplified to an almost painful degree, dynastic opulence on psychedelic drugs, nearly science fiction-like. While there was some good acting, the battle scenes were video game-like, with casts of thousands duking it out in the Forbidden City courtyards. And I don’t think there were hordes of ninja in Imperial China, then or ever. Almost everybody dies in the end, or ought to.
