MH17 black boxes to be handed over to global probe team, Najib says
(Malaysian Insider) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the MH17 black boxes which were retrieved from the crash site will be handed to the international investigation team for further analysis.
He said the boxes appeared to be in good condition. “They will held securely in Malaysian custody while the international investigation team is being formalised. At that time, we will pass the black boxes to the international investigation team,” he said in a statement today.
Najib expressed his satisfaction at the manner in which the agreement reached with the rebel leader Alexander Borodai, the self-styled Prime Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic, had progressed.
“The agreement with Borodai was to bring an end to the standoff over the crash site of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17,” Najib said.
“Our agreement rests on three conditions, namely the return of the victims’ remains, the handover of the flight recorder and full access to the crash site so that investigations can begin.” Najib said the first two conditions had been met as the flight recorders of MH17 had been handed over to Malaysian representatives.
“The train carrying the remains of the victims has arrived in Kharkhiv. Arrangements will be made to move the bodies to Amsterdam.” The Sydney Morning Herald today had reported that Najib had used “secret diplomacy” to reach an agreement with the rebels.
ICAO Accident Investigation Team Begins Ukraine Assistance Mission
MONTRÉAL, 21 July 2014 – Accident investigation experts from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) arrived in the Ukraine over the weekend to begin assisting their Ukrainian counterparts with the official accident investigation into the loss of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17.
The ICAO experts are in the State to provide guidance on relevant aspects of the Convention on International Civil Aviation and Annex 13 to the Convention (Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation) which apply under these circumstances, to assist with fact finding, and to ensure that all evidence is thoroughly considered as the investigation seeks to determine how the aircraft and its 298 passengers and crew were tragically lost late last week.
“ICAO’s accident investigation experts are in the Ukraine to respond to a call for assistance from the State’s National Bureau of Incidents and Accidents Investigation of Civil Aircraft,” commented ICAO Council President, Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu.

Anybody but me getting the sense that “the west” and Kiev aren’t interested in facilitating the seemingly responsible investigation efforts by Malaysia?
While the odds of MAS losing two 777s within four months aren’t particularly low to those with some knowledge of statistics, the attempts not to have Malaysia as an active principle partner in the investigation suggests that more than coincidence may be involved.
Are there any parties out there that would like to hurt MAS (that gets high ratings from customers/passengers) and/or Malaysia? Without getting all woo-woo, MH370 may have been some unfortunate accident that we don’t yet understand. Or maybe not.
Not secured by Malaysian authorities, just temporarily under Dutch watch on the train journey towards Kharkiv, the two boxes will be handed over to Atlanticist and Obama’s best ally David Cameron (@DavidCameron). Where is the guaranteed international commission of experts?
Of course, the British have nothing to lose or gain by the Ukraine debate and pushing NATO’s boundaries eastward. Cameron is the ideal son-in-law … for the Murdochs et al.

wtf? The rebels place the “black boxes” in the hands of Malaysian investigators who turn them over to Dutch officials who transfer them to the UK? And a few weeks from now an “objective” report will be released.
Not exactly the behavior one would expect from authorities totally certain they have the “goods” on Ukrainian rebels and/or Russia.
