I was the same when I was little. I had allergy shots and got a cat. Now if I keep a cat, my allergies stay better. If I don’t have one, they flair up again.
I was actually worse with dogs than cats, too. My childhood was difficult — bushes, plants, molds, everything. The shots really help if they’re that bad. They de-sensitize your immune system. Keeping an animal continues it, so all the allergies calm down.
That said, everyone’s different. But if she’s seriously affected in her daily life, I’d recommend an allergist. Regular doctors don’t usually know much about it.
Her Mom is a nurse and I’m sure they probably got her on something like that, but I’ve never heard them mention anything about it.
When my youngest daughter was small I had to go through that with her, plus she had asthma pretty bad. She had it pretty rough for awhile, but in her 20’s now and no problem at all.
I had some type of allergies in my teens. My eyes would swell shut and throat would start closing. I always had to go to the hospital to get shots for it. But this only happened for about 3 years and then nothing. I haven’t figured that out yet.
Nope, I know what that cat is doing. Just off camera, where you can’t see it, there’s a sign pointing to his open mouth with the words FREE BIRD SEED painted on it.
I almost printed BIRDD FUD in homage to Gary Larsen but I decided no cat would misspell such an important word as “food.”
<tic> crazzzeeeee <twitch> you talkin’ to me? <tic>
I don’t make it up O…it just comes to me, I’m not even looking for it…just seem to run into it, plus, I’ve got a lot of friends who are, shall we say, a half bubble out of plumb…:{)
I’m getting ready for bed. I’ve had a hard week at work so far, and they pay me the same as when I have the easy days. Fortunately I had some help sorting things out today so they should go smoother tomorrow.
Ok, I’ve not pimped this British show here yet, so here goes. Besides, it’s late and the title fit. Hehehe. If you haven’t discovered this jaw droppingly black comedy yet, get thee to the Oxygen channel on Wed nights at 9:00 (CST). Oxygen did a trial run of this series last summer, and we caught a few episodes and were awestruck by the sheer audacity of this show. Now it’s back in its 2nd season and as nasty as ever… IMDB it if you’re curious, then watch and feel your OMG meters hit the roof. It’s that good.
Murder. Nefarious plots. Venality unleashed. Jill Tyrrell is so deliciously evil you have to love and loathe her at the same time. We were hooked last summer and moaned when it went away… see what you think if you get this channel. It will take a bit of the edge off of Bu$hco Murika for at least 30 minutes, and that’s not a bad thing!
Hey, it feels a little empty in here without all the fat cats.
They were making my nose run 🙂
You sound like my niece today. She allergic to cats.
I was kidding (sort of). I have to be around them for a couple of hours before my nose starts to run. And it’s really not that bad.
Her eyes start to swell and everything. She’ll come over to see my Mom, but can’t stay long.

I don’t know if she’s taking allergy shots, but she’s the same way with dogs.

Yeah, it’s difficult, but thank goodness they do tend to get better as you get older with most people. Mine got a lot better in my 30s.

The rich do love their toys.
a real silver car is sooo impractical unless you have staff available to polish it on a daily basis. oh. I guess he does …
or he could just park it outside during sandstorm season.
Well this is out in the dry desert. I wonder how fast silver would tarnish out there?
You know this is insane. The a**hole has a silve car!

Of course if we managed to totally convert to, say, wind power, someone would figure out a way to own the wind.
If there is anything people want or need, others will find a way to make money off of it.
It’s way past my bedtime, so goodnight everyone.
We’re having pancakes in the morning cafe.
Sleep well, FM. I’ll probably miss the pancakes, but save some for me!
