I knew it was going to be a crappy trip going in and it managed to top my expectations but to put it in perspective, it’s nothing like what you go through — it’s just an irritation that combined with my dislike of business travel gives free rein to my inner kvetch.
Oooh, can I do some too? I’ve been writing about PMS last week and this week, before that it was premature ejaculation, and I just want to write about something that doesn’t involve reproductive organs for a change. Is that too much to ask? 🙂
Thanks. I’m good. I picked up two good friends from the airport yesturday; drove 100 miles total. Today, I will relax. My garden/yard is needs some work, but I need today to relax after dealing with Detroit City Airport.
Good morning everyone! I’m so excited – I got to leave the windows open in the bedroom last night and it was thunderstormy and rainy all night and I could actually HEAR it because Mr. Nature is out of town and not snoring beside me. And this morning is COOL and we’re going to get some spring weather again instead of high summer.
Yay!
But I’ve been putting off a lot of phone calls and visits so I have to do that all today. 🙁
It’s chilly here too. Maybe the grass cutting is looking more appealing than the writing this morning…I mean, what if the weather changes and gets hot? I can always write later…
My mom had trouble with PMS, when whe was 50-something, now she looks back and laughs at ‘The Change’; life is fun, life is interesting. That’s what she says these days!
I need my glasses, to find my glasses! Hope you find your lens. I have found that a few very small drops of super-glue will help keep the lenses from popping out. Depends on what type of frames you have.
Glad you found your lens! I’ve had the same thing happen a number of times. I’ve had glasses since age 9. Had some contacts’ when I was younger…too much trouble and problems, gave up on them 15 or so years ago.
I have wire-frame glasses now as well. The screws on the top of your glasses should be tightened up after you pop the lens back in. You will need a small screwdriver to do this. If this does not work, you can find replacement screws where you bought your glasses.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask me, if you need more info; believe me, I’ve had to deal with many glasses problems.
Yup. Those tiny little screws make me crazy. One time, I lost a screw and had to use some very fine bailing wire to hold my lens in place. It looked geeky, but it worked.
You know, I was just thinking about people who won’t wear glasses because of the way they would look. I’ve always thought that was the craziest thing I had ever heard.
Let’s see, do I want to look good (to me), or do I want to see? Duh.
I tried the contacts for awhile, but I tried as I was switching over to bi-focals. To much hazzel.
I figure if I’ve got to use a bandaid to keep the glasses together, so be it. At least I can see.
Good Morning from the great WET, STORMY state of Tennessee. Yes yet another damaging storm to report. The boot heel of Missouri had it worse than we did this time…We did have some trailors turned over like them…boy am I glad I do not live in one of them. Did not have phone service, but off and on electricity. Did not sleep yet another night of this miserable time of the year. This morning is so very cool! Damn, we went from turning off our heat to turning on the AC and now could go back to use our heat again. I am really tired of not having a medium of temps that will allow us to have some sort of spring. I am very tired this morning. Can’t mow the grass due to all the rain. Geez…what are we goona do, FM??!!
Anyhow, am glad to show up this morning and say hi. hugs to all…
I am glad you made it through this first round of spring storms BrendaS.
I live in Michigan, and though my part of the state has not seen too much of the rough weather yet, I know how you feel. I lost my power for a few hours last weekend, and it went from 70’s to 40’s out here in the past few days.
Morning everybody! I came up with a song this morning on one of my trips to the loo and have managed to remember it until now. You all know the melody, so sing along!
Scott McClellan bought the farm,
Bye-bye, Scotty-O!
His replacement comes from Fox,
Guy named Tony Snow.
With a half-truth here and a stonewall there,
Here a lie, there a lie,
Everywhere a Snow job.
Did you think that things would change?
Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho!
The link above has the results of our BooTrib survey. 91 people responded. Somehow, one more man than woman filled it out. Are all the men lurking, or are you women shy?
Are you kidding. I’m a workin man. Been doing spring cleaning in the house. Once the rain stopped, I decided to check the cafe and thought a little bright color might be nice.
Nope. I’m afraid if I hired to clean houses it would be like mine. I would sit there and think, that needs to be cleaned over there, I’ll get to it sometimes. The only difference is I would be paid.
I’m going ahead and openeing another cafe and take a nice long nap. It’s still sprinking and I’ve eaten, so it’s seems like the perfect time for a nap.
Hey FM! I’m up. finally. If you’re off putting up a cafe, that’s fine and I’ll keep an eye on it. If not, I’ll put a new one up in a bit. Thanks so much for being on duty.
Been a mutha of a stress week. With more Ups and downs than Tom Cruise trips up the wedding aisle.
But… for now… I’m deciding to say FICK UT to all the things I can’t change and bless my mind with some amazing music and friends.
I’m on a Hockey High and… sweet dreams of Super Joe Thornton. The man is a hockey G-d. Here’s what I wrote about Joe (he was from Boston my other team I like and then UNBELIEVABLE traded to the Sharks this Dec) It blew our minds!!! And last night… he was amazing as usual 🙂
He is beyond beautiful and perfectly perfect. It is pure joy to watch him on the ice. He is great because he helps make everyone around him be better. He takes your breath away and makes you fall in love with the simple beauty and poetry of this incredible game.
Actually… I think highly of the game and like Joe 🙂
My PuckBunny side of this sport – the list of men would have to be
Ulf Dahlen!!!! I have loved him for a long time
and possibly
Jeremy Roenick if you duct taped his fucking mouth shut
I’m not one of those who knows all the stats and numbers and that shit… but I love watching and going to the games.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing a newbie attend their first game. It’s fantastic to see a person fall in love with it. I truly think people have to see it in person to kinda “get it”.
Ever been to a game Family Man? Can I take ya to yer first?? 🙂
a week after that was published that Joe got traded? lol
Yes, I’m getting out of here shortly — heading down to the Sharks Store for you-know-what. 🙂 If I find it/then, watch your email so I can get shipping info… 🙂
((((Whoot Cali))))) wasn’t that a fun game last night??? I’m still so stoked from it… can ya tell ? 🙂
Thank you about the Cheechoo whistles for the kids. They will love em! Wesley was talking about them. He wants one but was plugging his ears while hearing em. That sound just seems to make him need to cover his ears.. YET!!! he wants one cause he loves the Sharks LOL. Good son of mine! LOL.
Thank you so much and I’ll cover the expenses. Great that it’s also for charity. XOXOX
I am so happy that you get to go. So many of the Slap Shot folks are going. Major Mojo!!
Good Morning!!! I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!!!! It’s hump day and the wrok week is half over… thank goodness. LOL
Well, I know it can’t get any worse for me because if it does, there won’t be any point in my being here and I can go home.
What’s up – trip not going well?
I knew it was going to be a crappy trip going in and it managed to top my expectations but to put it in perspective, it’s nothing like what you go through — it’s just an irritation that combined with my dislike of business travel gives free rein to my inner kvetch.
So how’s by you?
We need some kvetching.
Myself; too busy, our programme is expanding and I’d love to have some more support. It’s not coming, though.
Oooh, can I do some too? I’ve been writing about PMS last week and this week, before that it was premature ejaculation, and I just want to write about something that doesn’t involve reproductive organs for a change. Is that too much to ask? 🙂
Okay, kvetching finished.
is never finished — you’ve just moved to a different place on the continuum.
Good morning.
Good morning. Hump day indeed, we’re getting there..
Good Morning everyone.
Hi FM. How are you this morning?
Hi CG. I’m fine and just trying to wake up.
How’re ya doing?
Thinking I need to brew some coffee, and kind of glad I only had one glass of wine last night…and looking at my lawn thinking it needs mowing today.
You had to mention lawn. I’ve got to get ours done before friday.
Mow or not mow? Nap.
I know I should mow…and weed the garden…maybe tomorrow…
Hi ya been doing?
I like your attitude. 🙂
Thanks. I’m good. I picked up two good friends from the airport yesturday; drove 100 miles total. Today, I will relax. My garden/yard is needs some work, but I need today to relax after dealing with Detroit City Airport.
You definitely need to relax today. Just driving into a town of about 40,000 yesterday, tired me out.
If you mow the garden do you still ahve to weed it?
No way. You just have lawn straight up to the house.
I was thinking about you this am. I was seeing what’s on ETV and I saw Great Performances. One with Reba in it.
And you call that drinking liberally? pffft.
Well, if isn’t Mr. Liberal himself…how are you this morning? 🙂
A little bleary, worse for wear and tear…
Today is an Izzy day and she’s most definitely not an early riser so can you keep an eye on the cafe in case a second one is needed?
Also, do you want me to put up a coffee cart for you tomorrow morning?
I’ll be happy to keep and eye out.
Cafe tomorrow morning – only if you want to.
It’s no problem to do the coffee cart and it will let you take your time waking up.
Alright. I just don’t to add any street to your week.
You try to take it easy today and think slackfull thoughts.
I’ll be able to watch it too.
We’ll tag team. 🙂
I hope your long distance fluffing was enough to see you through another dogless husbandless windowless day.
[[[Andi]]]
I’ll try to remember how fluffed I am as I stare at the beige walls and look wistfully at the Sortie sign.
Time to go. See ya later.
Morning SN. It was actually cold in this house last night.
Phone calls and errands. Sounds like one of my horror days.
Me too – that’s why I always put them off and have to do everything in a hurry just before a report is due.
I’m enjoying the coolness – almost makes me feel like…..CUTTING THE GRASS!
Yea it almost and I repeat almost makes me feel like mowing the lawn, but it just doesn’t hit the mark.
The only thing that would make me want to do that is a full fledged winter. I would feel like doing it, because I would know I wouldn’t have to.
It’s chilly here too. Maybe the grass cutting is looking more appealing than the writing this morning…I mean, what if the weather changes and gets hot? I can always write later…
And the way the writing is headed, you could have to write about female sexual dysfunction next, and that would really be depressing.
Write something unisex. In-grown toenails, perhaps.
What a wonderful image to wake up to. 😛
My vote for worst TV commercial : that toenail fungus one.
There are so many bad ones it hard to pick. That’s one reason, before they change it, I would like to get Tivo or somthing like it.
Actually, someone just emailed me yesterday wondering if I was interested in any depression work…or a full-time job.
Myabe I should just shut up and learn to like PMS?
You want depression work?……I’ll give you some depression work. 😉
The full-time job thing would push me right into a depression, I’m afraid. 🙂
You’re preaching to the choir here. 🙂
Ah yes, I love the Perseid Meteor Shower myself.
Notice how skillfully he directs the conservation away from PMS. 🙂
My mom had trouble with PMS, when whe was 50-something, now she looks back and laughs at ‘The Change’; life is fun, life is interesting. That’s what she says these days!
My Mom is 80 and the only thing she says about it is, it was a bad time.
Yep, I’ll agree with that.
I’ve been sitting here at the computer and up around the house and wondering why my vision is off this morning. I didn’t think it was from waking up.
I just reached up to my glasses and realized one of the lenses fell out. Damn. Now I’ve got to find that.
Ha Ha. First thing I put on, and last thing I take off; my glasses.
Same here except I fall asleep with my glasses on sometimes. A real pain sometimes, like today. No big deal though, once I find the lense.
I know the feeling.
I need my glasses, to find my glasses! Hope you find your lens. I have found that a few very small drops of super-glue will help keep the lenses from popping out. Depends on what type of frames you have.
I’ve got the wire frames and I hate to admit it, but it’s a normal occurance.
I’ve already found my lense, under pillow, and popped it back in.
I’ll just have to take the effort to remove my glasses tonight when I go to sleep. 🙂
Thanks I appreciate it. Usually the lens I can deal with, but when the little screw pops out, that is really an adventure.
Trying to put one of those back in when you’re hold your glasses at arms lenght is something everyone should try.

Morning Brenda. Hate to hear about the storm, but I’m very happy you’re OK.
Same here with heat/cold/heat/cold. We’ve got rain coming in and I don’t know how bad it’ll be. But, I know it’s no lawn work today. Yee Ha!
You take care of yourself and be careful.
I am glad you made it through this first round of spring storms BrendaS.

Morning Omir. You put an earworm in my head.
I’m watching CNN now an Snow & Bush are up there. I had to turn the sound off.
Well, no matter what else I do today, I guess I’ll have accomplished something. 🙂
I’ve got to jump in the shower and then get started on the house. I’ll keep checking in.
But, Noooooooooo lawn work.
Thanks FM, I was starting to feel bad about no lawn work. Somehow, I can feel better about waiting ’till tomorrow, if I’m not the only one.

We have one Republican among us. Brave soul.
How about some bright color?
Yellow flower bud.
Yellow flower.
Keeping in mind I’m not nature man. I just look at flowers and go, Uhmmmm pretty flowers.
Coreopsis
Bless you. Gotta cold?
Ha ha. Why are you awake?
Are you kidding. I’m a workin man. Been doing spring cleaning in the house. Once the rain stopped, I decided to check the cafe and thought a little bright color might be nice.
Do you hire yourself out – because my house could use a spring cleaning.
Nope. I’m afraid if I hired to clean houses it would be like mine. I would sit there and think, that needs to be cleaned over there, I’ll get to it sometimes. The only difference is I would be paid.
Don’t think it would work.
Oh…paid, right. We could sit there together looking at the mess and thinking it needs to be cleaned.
Your nappiness is catching. I feel one coming on.
I’m going ahead and openeing another cafe and take a nice long nap. It’s still sprinking and I’ve eaten, so it’s seems like the perfect time for a nap.
Wait a minute, I forgot Izzy is here today.
I think a nap in the chair is in order.
Hey FM! I’m up. finally. If you’re off putting up a cafe, that’s fine and I’ll keep an eye on it. If not, I’ll put a new one up in a bit. Thanks so much for being on duty.
Hi Izzy. I’m sorry, I completely forgot today is Izzy day. Sounds like it should be a holiday.
I think this one can take care of itself for a while. I’m off to napdom.
Thanks, FM, and sweet dreams!
Soothing my soul with Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder this afternoon. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yay to the Super Sharks and Owwwsome Ottawa!!!! They both won last night in spectacular fashion.
Suhweeeet times for hockey fans in the pond.
Check out Milan’s tongue. I love that focus power!!! 🙂 I do that as well as bite my lip.
Glad to hear you’re having a nice day!

I would be more than happy to go to one with you.
I’ve only been to one major league game of any type in my life and that was baseball in Boston. Had a good time.
due to me talking about him.
Smokin’ Hot Joe! I’ll take a cup of him anyday! 😀
a week after that was published that Joe got traded? lol
Yes, I’m getting out of here shortly — heading down to the Sharks Store for you-know-what. 🙂 If I find it/then, watch your email so I can get shipping info… 🙂
IRONIC huh and FANtastic.

Enough with the coffee and bagels already! Where are the burgers and beer?
Hi SN. Get all your stuff done?
Shhhhh
OoooooK.
you need to spruce up your coffee to fully enjoy the experience
If you insist. 🙂
Yikes! Where’d the time go? Coming right up, SN!
Not to be bitchy and whiney or anything. 🙂
The lounge is open for happy hour!
