I am not a big Hillary fan. Yeah, she is a successful Senator from the State of New York, but she isn’t Presidential material. And frankly, I am not much into political dynasties. If she runs and wins, there will have been a Clinton or a Bush working in the White House all the way back to 1980.
America needs some fresh blood.
The Right Wing hates her. And from what I have been reading in the blogosphere this past weekend, there is not a lot of joy of Hillary in the netroots either. But that is the key element that makes her a losing candidate – the Right’s hate of Hillary outweighs the Left’s love for her. That is a GOTV strategy that is very bad for us. As we showed in 2006, GOTV is a must for the Left and if we can’t get enthused about Hillary, then that speaks volumes.
And here is my pet peeve on Hillary. Anyone, especially someone elected to a Federal office, who thought the war in Iraq was a good idea up until about six months ago, doesn’t have the sound judgment I require from a President. Hillary’s war hawk stubbornness is what really killed her candidacy for me.
Amen…
Damn, what a clever cartoon! because who has to handle the baggage she’s got? The same activist GOTV core that helped the Dems to their current majority, and who are not at all likely to generate the same enthusiasm for Hilary, as you said. A strike is about right.
You’ve got a zinger today!
Thanks!
I was GOTVing for NC-05 and those people who were open to changing their vote to the Dem camp, will slam the door in my face if I start handing out Hillary brochures.
Which BTW will KILL whatever chances the other Dem candidates I am stumping for.
Ya know?
