Thanks for posting this FarEasterner, it was a pleasure to see your photos.
I lived (as an exchange student) in Bangalore forty years ago and have always wished I could see it again.
I hate to admit that I didn’t get to see the Taj then. I keep telling myself “next time,” but sometimes it seems I’ll have to wait for the next lifetime.
I’m sure that like all of India, pictures don’t even come close to the reality.
Bangalore was recently renamed Bengaluru but people still continue to use older name.
About photos and their relation to reality – I just don’t know what to say. Look some people I didn’t know, few others I knew but they are looking differently for different people, so it’s question of perception and background of viewers – their education, previous exposure to Oriental culture and religion etc. I suspect people who have had no any knowledge of India before may see my pictures in different way comparing to those who visited India or even lived here.
Yes, Kerala is beautiful. When I visited this state 2 years ago I often was catching self on this thought – probably it’s difficult to live in beautiful land and having yet ordinary problems. The best thing abut Keralan society is its activism. And the worst thing too, as often many workers spend plenty of time in meetings instead of work.
I am actually not from India, but from the place called Sakha republic in the Russian Far East but in recent 5 years I usually stay in some place in subcontinent, in Delhi, South India, Darjeeling and Sikkim or Himachal. I like mountains and it’s not that hot up here on altitude of around 1800 metres.

Just as beautiful – more rural and a lot less cars then.
About capturing the reality, I was thinking of the heat, sound and aromas.
At the time I was 17 years old and quite overwhelmed by it all.
What part of India are you from? My favorite area was Kerala.
