I came across this holiday photo gallery from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution of scenes in New Orleans during the holiday season.
And this is not limited to the French Quarter.
While the city looks forlorn and empty, there are still stirrings of life…and hope.
Enjoy, and pray for a better, happier time for its residents, both exiles and survivors.
(…and you have any Christmas/New Orleans photos to share, link away)

May the New Year bring Peace, Blessings and Hope to you and the people of New Orleans.
This administration will not stand. Thank you for your caring and your commitment to these people and their plight, and for your passionate voice here at BT.
Peace and Blessings
Looking at the pictures in that link was both heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time..I think the one with the woman in the tent putting a small tree up by her cot for her daughter was probably the hardest to look at..and will linger in my mind along also with the note to Santa Claus by the young girl staying in a hotel.
“heartbreaking and hopeful”
You nailed it. Tragically sad, yet the strength of the human spirit is an amazing, beautiful thing.
Thank you so much blksista for posting this.
Best wishes to you and your family for the holidays.
