Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Nyack, New York painting. I am using the photo seen directly below. The scene is Main street in Nyack, New York, a historic town on the Hudson River. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6×6 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
This week’s changes are concentrated at street level. To the left side, I’ve now completed the shadowed jeep. The street itself has received another layer of paint on the lane going away from the viewer. Across the street, the SUV has now been completed, also in blue. Finally, the trees have recieved shadows and highlights. The painting is now completed.
The current and final state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
The cafe is open.

Not sure how that posted twice. I guess some things bear repeating.
Hi Family Man! Hope all is well with you.
Hi ID,
Yep everything is fine. Hope you’re doing well too.

Since retiring a couple of years ago, I have a lot more time than money, so I’ve been scraping and painting the outside of the house – slowly. I’m staying inside on those 90 degree days, though. Thankful I can still get up and down a ladder at 70+. Must be all the practice I had at the fire dept.
Hay FM!
Hiya Boran,
I see you’re up to the Hudson Valley next week. Wish I could be up there. In the coming week we’re supposed to be over 100F for a couple of days. Thank goodness for air conditioning.
Over a hundred in my neck of the woods later this week as well. A/C is essential in the south. Stay cool and stay hydrated.
Oddly enough it seems the older I get the colder I get. Although I keep the thermostat up high, I keep having to go outside to warm up. Oh to be 40 or 50 again.
Same to ya on the cool and hydration.
Yikes! Stay cool, FM! It’s mostly 70s/80s here.
Looks like it turned out nicely. So, what do you have in store for us next week?
Thanks DD! Back to the Hudson Valley next week.
Hello, All. Glad you’re joining the Hudson River School, Boran! Looking good!
I really like the lighting you gave your painting, b2.
