Well, I can’t take much more of the Republican drama this week, can you?
Time for a Knit-a-palooza! I’ve had plenty of knitting time with all the Dem convention watching last week…
I finished sewing together my funky linen sweater, and I love the colors of the yarn:
(and yes, I do hate having my picture taken-why do you ask?)
While I was at the Hardcore metal band concert on Sunday night, I grabbed a ball of yarn and started a pair of fingerless gloves for one of my ‘adopted sons’:
When finished, they’ll be close relatives of this pair of mitts.
Since it was CBtE’s birthday last week, I cast on a new pair of socks for him while watching the convention speeches (using the Froot Loop pattern) and am all ready to turn the heel already. They’re actually a little more hot pink than red in person…I want to steal them. Sigh.
And then I have to wind up the yarn to start his new sweater:
The Urban Aran Cardigan. I’m using a dark moss color for his, and I think it’ll look great.
That’s about it. What’s needling you this week?
of your thoughts…
Any Mythbusters fans here? I love these.
Those are cute! I also like the two knitted Johns from They Might Be Giants who appear as the puppet hosts for their kids DVD – I can’t find a pic of them right now, though.
Those would be awesome…
:::running to get my TMBG cds out and listen to Birdhouse in Your Soul:::
Thanks for some real input after the the information the mass media has given this week!
My head is about to explode from listening to miss queen bee cheerleader type talk about anything but real issues, like, you know, the economy, the mess in Iraq, healthcare…but I’ve done the heel for one of my socks, so it isn’t a total loss. š
Love the urban cardigan!
I actually bought the pattern booklet for a different sweater pattern, and then saw that one and knew I had to do it for CBtE.
So cute. And that is all.
š
That urban cardigan rocks – even more than Sarah Palin and her Tracy Flick speech!
I should have knitted during that POS. Maybe I wouldn’t have been grinding my teeth so much. Of course, I would have probably knitted Suck it! or F you into whatever I was working on. Sorry, I’m just so mad – what a terrible group of old, rich white people and additional morons.
I have a scarf to finish for the little kid (I’ve been making him a new Toddle scarf each year for the past three). His coat this year is dark blue. Here’s the one from 2 years ago:
And one I knitted for a gorilla (well, actually a friend’s kiddo):
I should finish the new one soon, seeing how we are already into the low 40s at night here in the upper plains.
Believe me, I was thinking of a few places I could put my sharp pointy sticks during that mess tonight. What foul people, and what a contrast with the tone of the DNC last week. Bitter sarcasm and scorn versus hope and optimism…
Those toddle scarves are cute (as is the wearer!). Is it really already getting into the 40s at night there?
I think fall is going to come quickly this year, because we’ve had one of the coolest Augusts I can remember.
