Hey! How’s it going?
Are you getting ready to go off electioneering?
Well, hitting a labor rally first, then going to do GOTV until the evening. So yeah, basically. 🙂
Hope you have a rewarding day — and thanks for all your hard work.
Good morning Andi and Psi.
Great energy Psi, you truly walk the walk.
Morning Ask.
Morning Andi, Psi, and ask!
Uh, Andi, I’ll just clean my own table, ‘kay?
Have fun electioneering today, Psi. I’m thinking about dropping by one of the Gore/Sestak things, since I have to take CBtE to art class in Wayne around the same time.
What are you up to today, ask? Are the asklets with you?
did you get your rug?
I did. Wanna see?
that’s why I asked a leading question.
I have to go take a picture and upload. Be right back.
It’ll be awhile. The offspring took my camera and were playing with it last night while I was out getting the rug, and don’t know where they put it. Argh.
too bad you didn’t take your camera with you when you went shopping — you could have done a rug diary like one of Izzy’s shoe diaries.
Camera located. Picture forthcoming (it’s really just a bigger verison of yesterday’s rug).
but it will look even better when you’re lying on it in front of a nice fire.
I’m enjoying sitting on it while blogging this morning. Cushy and warm.
I kept the smaller one for the other part of the room…Dumbledore has decided it’s his new sleeping spot (he even gave up his spot at the end of my bed for it).
It looks great.
Thanks. I’m really psyched – I’ve waited years for all the puppies to grow up and the kids to stop spilling before I got a nice rug.
Next I’m picking out my couch. I’ve already got it narrowed down, I just need to drag the CBs out to lounge on the options with me.
Looks great … and that’s such a cozy room. 🙂
Beautiful rug!!!!!
Saw your picture a few days ago, so I guess you didn’t get that one.
Something similar?
Morning CG.
Well, today is kind of a big anniversary for me so I’ll pick up the young ones for lunch and hang out in the afternoon. curly takes me out for dinner tonight.
We’ll have a few friends over tomorrow daytime for marathon watching, cake and what not.
Enjoy your celebration.
Hmm…birthday?
Yup.
Big five-O.
Happy 50th, ask!!!
Happy Half-century!
Thanks Andi and CG and boran,
That’s a great looking cake. curly tells me I’ll have to wait till tomorrow for actually tasting it (and it is shared with youngest asklet whose birthday is in a few days).
Have some lefse and Akvavit on me.
Happy Birthday Ask!!!!!!!!
Happy B’day ask. So you’re the big five oh. Congrats!
Good morning to all! I just love when the boran2 boy gets me up at 6:20 on a day whe I can sleep. I’ll be off to do my first phonebanking ever at 10:00.
He only did it because he loves you — he just wanted to make sure you had plenty of time to wake-up before spending a hard day on the phone.
No, he just to find his newest gameboy cartridge. At least he’s got his priorities straight.
As I’ve indicated this week has been a bit stressful and I was hoping to get some sleep tonight.
So here it is almost 4:30 in the morning and I’ve been up for two hours in the middle of the night. I hope to drop back off soon but my son’s two kids are staying overnight and I have no doubt they will be up to watch cartoons at 6.
Plus my granddaughter (the one who lives here) went to her friend’s house, they rented “Monster House” on DVD and it gave her nightmares, so she can’t sleep either.
I’m gonna be a zombie when I finally get out of bed for the day.
I’ve heard that may zombies are cured by napping with their granddaughters on the couch.
Excellent suggestion.
Part of last night’s problem was trying to get one of the granddaughters (the two-year-old variety) to go to sleep when she didn’t think she wanted to go to sleep. Nevertheless naps are a good suggestion, and one I fully intend to pursue today, as well as spending some guy time with the grandson. I bought some construction toys not too long ago (Lego and Magnetix) that we can’t pull out while his sister is around, so we have to split them up and find something else for her to do while he plays with them. He’s not likely to swallow the magnets. Her, I’m not so sure.
Right now, though, it’s time for breakfast.
Good morning. I hope everyone is fine today.
I think we missed everyone.
Hah, I’m here (back from the morning errand run).
Morning CG. Did you get your walk in this morning?
I’m probably going to do that while CBtE is at art class. The weekends are so busy, it’s hard to fit everything in.
What are you up to today?
Yeah the weekends are busy. I might be able to squeeze in two or three naps today. 🙂
This weekend I hope is very slackerly. Relatives were supposed to be here last night, but called and said they wouldn’t be coming. So the most strenuous thing I might try is to give George a bath.
Morning SN. How’s your weekend shaping up?
It’s gorgeous, sparkling weather here but leaves are falling madly so I guess we’ll be doing that. And cleaning up pee.
Take the leaves and cover up the pee. Tell everybody you’re going for that primitive look and smell in your house. 🙂
I can’t believe I didn’t think of that first! You’re the master, FM.
No not the master, just extremely lazy. 🙂
Glad Sniff cleaned off the table, ’cause Smooch has been sitting on it again – though prettily arranged in the center of the summer wreath I had just taken off the side door.
is home for the weekend, too, so we’ll have the joy of listening to his cell phone ring constantly. But at least he brought his guitar. I love to hear him play.
The boy and HJ look pretty comfortable. Next you’ll have to get HJ a cell phone.
Gotta get some breakfast going.
See ya’ll later.
Very disappointed — spouse and I were going to get up early and go to church because they were showing the investiture of the new Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Katherine Jeffers Schori (it’s a girl!), but we forgot about it and overslept. (Was reminded by checking Street Prophets — Renee in Ohio had a front-pager about it.)
Oh well, we’ve got a lot of crud to get done around here today — hockey night again tonight, seeing the Sharks play the Pittsburgh Penguins. Hopefully will turn out better than Thursday’s debacle. Anyway, plan to catch a nap late in the afternoon, and need to discuss dinner plans with the spouse.
Hope everyone has a great day…
Howdy, folks — just dropping by to say hello (as usual lately), letting y’all know I’m still on earth.
Always so glad to see you & check out the latest delicious imagery.
Alas, haven’t yet made it to the fotOfair! Very late to the party, as usual. Hope it doesn’t all vanish into the ether before I can get there.
Speaking of ‘late to the party’: HAPPY Birthday to our dear pond-mate ask!! May these blessings reach you in full force on an exceptionally special day.
I’ll be turning that half-century corner myself soon enough. Looking forward, actually — because I believe we’ll have regained our sanity as a nation, somewhat, by then. In any case, I’m sure I’ll be saner ..
I’m about to head out into the sun for a little promenade, since there’s apparently a cold front heading through & it’s a bit breezy. Air temperature’s probably in the low ’80s. Brrrr!
See y’all later. Enjoy a lovely Saturday!
Hi Folks!!!! I am working today to make up for being off this last tuesday. I did a new podcast last night.
Sex, Drugs, & Bible Thumpers!!! The Religious Right & Repugnants Strike Again
The rest of the weekend will be busy with election stuff of course.
Mid afternoon check-in before taking nap, one of few things to like about terrible bronchitis is an excuse to sleep in the middle of the day.
Got up early but couldn’t drag out to hear Clinton at 8am, Just as well, he was (as expected), VERY late, so we would have missed him anyway.
Finally have excuse to buy that fancy vacuum with T313’s newly discovered cat allergy (mild, fortunately). Must be a true sign of middle age to be excited about buying a vacuum!
Posted accidently before saying this: I deeply appreciate all of you out there phone banking, walking neighborhoods, doing other election things today. A thousand stars for your crowns!
Absolutely seconded!
sorry about the bronchitus!!!! Hope you feel better soon!!! I sm still not over my cold but am fighting on. LOL
Don’t forget your ginger tea, dear — it’ll heat you & help you kick the infection. Best to get the whole ginger root, slice up a bunch & steep it in hot water, drink it up quick.
Love the ‘Grand Old Perverts’ design, btw! Excellent!
Blessings on the journey, refinish!
Is anyone around or have you all gone to the dogs?
Just peekin’ in for a wee bit, maryb. How are you?
Finally getting a free moment. Had to work today. Ugh.
Watcha doin? I’m watching Blues/Calgary.
Just eating dinner and watching ottawa v carolina … and toronto v buffalo is on the tv downstairs … 🙂
Hi WW, I hear you’re living down in the sauna called Florida now? What a change for you.
I’m good.
Damn, maryb — just as soon as I’m ready to forget my current locale, someone goes & reminds me.
Yep, I’m down in the ‘heart of darkness’ (to quote dada) — no real choice of my own, really. Family stuff paired with extreme personal disaster.
Glad you’re doing well, ready to chill out this evening. Or am I assuming too much?
I am chillin. I had a long day and tomorrow will be long too and I didn’t feel like organizing anything social, so I’m going to hang and watch the hockey game.
OK! Good.
Misread Miss O’s howdy as your reply (ergo the ‘ready to chill out’ comment). But perhaps you’re ready to chill out after a busy day, too.
Have any studies been done regarding excessive heat & early senility? Just curious.
And hello hello, Miss O!
