Morning Andi!!! I love that picture!!!!That would be beautiful matted and framed in anyone’s home!!! I wish I had 1/4 of the talent you and Olivia have with a camera.
I am surviving my time with no electricity and making the best of it. I am at work mighty early but that was to make coffee and do some blogging to let people know I am alright. LOL I love the people who send me email during this time. The emails are hard to see when the battery dies on the laptop. LOL
Hi refinish. I’m glad you enjoyed the picture and I’m sorry about the electricity. Hope you get it back soon.
It will be back Thursday if everything works out. LOL I am going to see if the neighbors will let me run an extention cord from their out side plu inside so I can at leat stay up a litle later with the laptop.LOL
Good morning, Adi and refinish.
So quiet this morning – well, it’s Monday, after all.
Hi ask.
Yep, it’s really quiet here today — I’m getting ready to go to a customer site for a couple of days so I can’t hang around much anyway so at least I won’t be missing much.
Morning Ask!!!!
Hi Andi, ask and refi!
Andi, that picture is gorgeous. And yesterday’s was amazing too.
Ask, I got your email…sounds like a plan!
Refi, I’m glad your doing okay with no power. I bet you’ll be happy to have it back, though. We had almost a whole week with no power this summer, and it was a zillion degrees with high humidity…just miserable. I hope the weather is decent for you this week. 🙂
How’s your fall color? I would think you would have some equally nice pics to post.
Good morning, CG.
You’ve got mail.
I need more coffee…
OK, we have a plan, then.
I need some coffee too. Check your email later today for more details. 🙂
I will be thrilled to get it back. Tonight I get to throw out everything in my fridge and freezer. The reason I waited til today is garbage pickup is tomorrow morning.
When that happened to us, I was lucky enough to have a friend with an empty freezer (and power!) for me to put everything in.
Whata drag. And they waited until the weekend to cut you off, didn’t they?
Friday they cut it off. I don’t have any friends who live close so everything goes.
Morning all. Another day in paradise…
Howdy all,
I just got another stack of time sink added to my pile, revision notes for Cybermancy. I’ll be lurking till those are done. Hope life’s treating you right.
Today’s tea Early Grayer.
Sometimes revisions are worse than the first draft, aren’t they?
These might not be bad at all, but they might turn out to be a royal pain. We’re still discussing the best way to address a couple of issues. Right now the answer is somewhere between 5 hours of clean-up and fifty hours of pain. Most likely it’ll be the former, but if I didn’t prepare myself for the latter I’d be stupid.
Here’s hoping everyone is doing well.
I did my good deed for the day already. I have been trying to get out the door earlier so I can get to work at a reasonable time, so I can come home at a reasonable time. It’s been hard because for a while I had to drop my granddaughter off at school, which puts me behind about a half hour. Now my daughter is staying with us for a while (long story) so she has offered to take the munchkin to school.
This morning the munchkin comes into the bedroom and asks, “Grandpa, can you please take me to school today instead of Auntie?” A bit of questioning did not get me any kind of reason that would make sense to anyone over the age of 9 (which is, not coincidentally, her age).
So, we hit a bit of a compromise. Without telling the munchkin what we were up to, Auntie and I both walked her most of the way to school. At the last moment, right across the street from my bus stop, we swerved into a coffee shop, where we picked up three hot chocolates and three pastries for breakfast.
I didn’t get to work early and spent $11 on breakfast, but I think it was time and money well spent.
Omir — one of my non-blogging friends read my shoe diary over at ET, including all the comments, and just sent me this e-mail:
I said I’d ask you 🙂
I’ve heard of some of the Bobs’ stuff and like what I’ve heard. I can’t think of any specific songs right at the moment but I know my association with them goes back about 20 years, because I was arguing with a friend in Texas about them.
I was trying to tell her that I had heard somewhere that they got their name as being short from The Oral Bobs, a takeoff on both their oral way of making music and the famous evangelist. She told me she had heard a different story, which I can’t remember right now. They’re probably both right, whatever hers was. 🙂
Got to see if I can find any of their works at Tower Records before the store closes.
Saw them live several years ago at Stanford University; the opening act was the Stanford Mendicants, one of two a capella groups on campus (the Mendicants are all male, IIRC, while the Stanford Mixed Company is co-ed). The concert was a lot of fun…
The Bobs
Many years from now, you’ll be surprised how well she’ll remember today, and other days like it…
Good afternoon — I was actually showered and dressed before noon today; what a concept! Trying to find some motivation to do something productive…hope everyone is doing better than I on that front…
I certainly hope she will. I figure trading a half hour of work time that I can make up later for a pleasant memory she’ll have for the rest of her life is a good trade. One worth making 10 times out of 10.
I’m going to go do something productive. I’m going to go eat lunch. 🙂
Omir, will you be my adoptive Grandfather? Nice move with the munchkin.
Sure, c’mon over. The more grandkids, the merrier. Kidspeak too, if she wants.
If we get up your way, we’ll be sure to let you know. It’d be fun visit the bakery one morning.
That would be most excellent. It’s just a little neighborhood espresso joint, nothing fancy. You see people there all the time having a biscotti with their kids after school, students with their laptops and/or textbooks, couples, you know, the gamut. We don’t go there often because we’re not coffee drinkers, but I figured on a day like today, well what the heck, why not.
WSounds like a nice start to the day…getting to work early is often overrated, IMO.
A different kind of campaign.
