I think John Boehner should just give up and resign. He can’t lead his pack of fools. The White House has no reason to take him seriously. He can’t deliver a deal. You would think that a bunch of Wall Street head honchos and defense contractors and doctors could convince rank-and-file Republicans to stand up to Grover Norquist, but they evidently are not having any success.
And then there is Mitch McConnell. He couldn’t convince his caucus to ratify a treaty on the rights of the disabled. (Roll call here). Bob Dole showed up to try to convince his former colleagues to act in a sane manner, but he was ignored. McConnell should resign in disgrace.
John, John, John! Remember those good times, long ago, when passage of health care reform was going to be Obama’s Waterloo?
Welcome to your Waterloo, Mr. Boehner. Let the political bloodletting begin.
McConnell couldn’t convince his caucus? Hell, he voted against the treaty too! What a disaster…
Yup, and because he’s up for reelection in two years, he’s afraid to get to the left of Rand Paul on crazy UN conspiracy theories.
Stepford Wife Syndrome. Without the batteries.
Meanwhile: Pelosi files House discharge petition
Orange John, it’s your move again.
She is just magnificent. She is doing a better job of persuading Republicans than their own Speaker.
But then they would have to find employment elsewhere, and who would have them?
The only way to get the GOP to stand up to Grover is for the money folks to stop funding their anti tax lobbyist. 20 years of Grover….enough.
.
If all the Republicans defect from Norquist’s bondage of “no new taxes” he (Norquist) does not have enough cash to defeat every so called defector.
I was having a shitty day, but this makes things a LOT better.
Funny thing about that pack of fools, and their supposed mandate drawn from the high number of tea-party droids returning to the House.
David Wasserman of Cook Political Report said today on the Chuck Todd show that because of the democrats’ reach into urban areas and college towns, out of the total House popular vote, a million more votes were cast for democrats than republicans.
But dems took only 201 seats out of 435 because
Yeah, both men are small-minded and mediocre, but whayt republican could do a better job? With the crazy gerrymandering*, the house gop mostly fear challenges from the right… maybe there is just no way to convince them not to act crazy.
If this is the case, the path forward is a bold 50 state strategy*. Democrats need to go into blood red districts and convince people there that they have a better choice.
* I wonder if a case against gerrymandering could be brought up to the supreme court based on the 14th amendment?

Howard Dean for DNC chair!!!
Boehner and McConnell should just quit–like Dick Armey just did, Congressional portrait, staff and all.
Meanwhile, Roger Ailes has a temporary suspension on Rove and Morris appearing on FoxNews as guests unless approved by his VP.
