Is there a war on in Iraq? I haven’t seen anything about it on my television recently. I was thinking maybe there was a peace treaty signed or some kind of armistice, or something…

The ratings have been bad. All we get are the re-runs at the moment, whenever it’s not being bumped for dead white five year old girls killed a decade ago stories.
It’s a re-run alright! Mai Lai/Haditha, Hue/Bagdhad, DMZ/Green Zone, Ho Chi Mihn/Osama Bin-Ladin, Cambodia/Iran, Laos/Syria…different names/cast of characters…same results. Commonality PTSD.
Maybe it should be Saigon. But, for all practical purposes, when Hue fell, it was over.
Boo-Man, yeah the war still goes on. However, the media has been having fun with Ahminejad, (sp) and Chavez to even notice. Still don’t like the fact that our troops will have to stay thereat least till spring of 2007.
ANOTHER LIE!!!! I’ll add it to the list.
Why is it that both parties are so intent on screaming at each other, rather than trying to find solutions to this country’s massive problems??
It’s an election year.
The ones I hear screaming the most and loudest are the jerks in control of everything! Us minority party types, at times, have to raise our voices to get on the back page (if we are lucky!).
Yeah, they are trying to shout us down by bullying. Hell if I’m voting for more of the same.
Right!!! they are having fun with President Chavez. But everyone, including the American people are ignoring the blistering statement that Chavez made regarding this country being a safe haven for terrorism. They even ignored that tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of what was then called the worst foreign terrorist action inside the US.
I will be surprised if anyone will remember tomorrow. It is a sad day when those Americans that have been the victims of right wing terrorism have to depend on a foreigner to get some sense of justice.
I assume you mean this: LINK
Damm close Steven. While Letelier has a whole country behind him, Ronnie Moffit who was in his car that tragic day has been buried in some DOJ archive. I dont think the American people can understand what she and others like Charlie Horman have meant. in argentina we had a few foreigners or dual citizens killed. They were are only hope when impunity was the law of the land. If there was a chance of these monsters facing justice it was them who would bring it to us.
It is a shame to see how Americans do not take care of their own. Waht can I say, today I am relly pist off.
That must explain your support for Joe Lieberman, right? Instead of being a part of the fray, he doesn’t even bother voting on the issues that matter.

I wanted to see if it was ok to post what I posted at big orange over here. Didn’t want to do anything like that without first getting in touch with you.
Obviously, this community is going to be one of the beneficiaries of it – I can let you know my thoughts if you want to shoot me an email (send it to the one in my profile if you want, not the work one – at least not today…)
thx–

Let me ask people to please give a few recs to dougr’s currently recommended 9/11 diary. I’d like to see it up for awhile. It only has 3 recs and is dropping fast. Thanks.
