(For those unfamiliar with the Random 10, pull out your iPod/iTunes, hit shuffle, and tell us what the first 10 on your list are…)
No Dinero:
But I think I need to change the words..how do you think “…I spent it all at the orthodontist” sounds?
I’m sure CBtE would recognize all of yours and think you were so cool, but I am not so cool…I only recognize 5 of them.
little generation gap between you and psi.
True dat.
I know only 2 of his.
But the one I linked to is current enough…
Sheesh, I only know two of his too; Coldplay and Metallica. I asked my teenager to look and in our defense, she only knew 3 or 4. CG is just obviously a prodigy. :>)
I just share an iTunes library with CBtE, and occassionally wind up with more than I bargained for on my iPod. π
You’re lucky. KamaKid is into some weird shit. I sometimes find myself listening to J-Pop or obscure anime soundtracks. On the plus side, at least it’s not Britney!
I finally have an iPod so I can respond to one of these!
Yeah, I’m dated too.
Must be close to the same age- all the above are resident on my ipod.
Wow…that is one of the strangest, and yet so cool, random 10’s I’ve ever seen. KamaKid thinks you rock.
Firefly is the coolest…I have to track down that soundtrack.
Thanks! π I’m a soundtrack collector — usually the orchestral scores. I do have non-soundtracks, but very little of what might be called “popular” music. I like instrumental music, and when I’m writing I find lyrics (at least lyrics in English) distracting. Soundtracks have so much mood and expression, so they’re good inspirational background.
Firefly has a nice soundtrack, picks up a lot of that “Old West” style that was in the show, with guitar, piano and fiddle and so on. I also like the soundtrack for Serenity, but it’s very different in style.
Been There All the Time – Dinosaur Jr
Drive South – John Hiatt
Just Stay – Kevin Devine
The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite – REM
Wedge – Phish
Goodbye Head – Trey Anastasio (how random was that?)
Magic – Brice Springsteen
The Whistler Knows Best – Wrinkle Neck Mules
Satta Massagana – The Abyssinians
Doors of Perception – Thievery Corporation
for good measure: Keep it Simple – The Slackers
I’m amazed none of my 80s new wave came up

Neither do I (though I think I need to get one). I just use iTunes on my computer and download songs either from CDs or from the iTunes store (dangerous at 99 cents a song, or about $10 for a whole CD). iTunes is a free download.
Incidentally Cabin Girl, which version of “That’s What Love will Make You Do” is that? Just curious π
Almost forgot about Little Feat – there is still some vinyl of them here.

The challengers (no. 4) are classic surf
The Bloodhound Gang are are a comedy rap act from philly- mama’s boy is a 30 second clip of one of them calling his mom to ask if she knows any words that rhyme with vagina. Shuffle does some weird stuff.
I never use shuffle. I like this game.
