How the heck is he “scandal plagued” except in the imaginations of non-legislating Republicans? He’s plagued by a House that will not participate in governance.
Chicago has a hell of a mayor — one of the smartest and toughest guys anywhere, just the kind of person you want to run a city.
There was also the above doozy. I think the author of the Esquire piece has been spending too much time with Toronto’s mayor.

I may have shared this before but a few weeks ago I was on a flight to Calgary. A 20 something was on board with a tee shirt that said, “what is the definition of a true Canadian?… An Unarmed American with health insurance “. 😀

But seriously, I’m not such a self-absorbed Murrican to actually think that. Toronto is a fine city. Although I’d smoke crack too if I had to live north of Buffalo.
As a Canadian living now in San Diego, I feel ya. Those winters. But I must say that many things become more pleasant on the far side of the border north of Buffalo. People have jobs. Even if they don’t they have healthcare. There is a safety net. The politicians are nuts, but not so much the gun totin’ cowboy crazy right wing nuts like here. The banks are, by and large, constrained by national and provincial law. Corporations are not people.
So if I had to choose to live within 50 miles north or south of the Border, it’s no contest.
But anyway, no I have no idea what’s going on in Tarana (the proper pronunciation).
Everything I read about Harper makes it seem like he really wants to make his party over into cowboy crazy wingers.
Harper is a teeny little dick as compared to the many mammoth republican penises striding across the US landmass.
Uh, well Canada has roughly a 10th the population of the US so that would stand to reason. Yes.
