That 4 looks good on you
It looks sooo beautiful. Pleae send some to parched New Mexico.
I wish I could, believe me. It’s been raining since Wednesday and it’s forecast to keep raining through Tuesday. I do miss the sun.
I’m sorry it’s gloomy there but it looks so pretty. I expect to see Katharine Hepburn and Humprey Bogart come skimming by in a riverboat.
Or maybe Humphrey. But given his philandering maybe Humprey is more apropos.
It’s just a little lake — his opportunities to philander would be really limited.
Did Colin have a good time at the prom?
I spoke to him after the prom and he said it was a blast. He spent the night with a big gang at a friends house.
That’s grand. And I’m glad he confirmed my thinking that he is a very nice kid by calling you. π
Are you going someplace fancy with your mom today?
My present is a beautiful day and slave children to clean to the house.
I don’t go fancy places (and besides there aren’t any for about 60 miles).
I thought all children were slave children — my mother told us that women have children so there will be someone to do all the things they hate to do (as she put a dust rag in our tiny hands).
I’m still trying to make up for the decade that I slept through. I don’t clean their rooms or do their laundry, but if I’m home all day and they’re at school I figure I should do something, right?
But today, total slackdom.
You go, girl! Make FM proud.
Happy Mom’s Day!
I’m always proud of SN and everyone here.
The slackdom takes me from proud to beaming.
Hi SN. I’m glad he had a good time. Proms should be something good to remember.
Did they have proms back in your day, FM?
Sorry, you were being so nice and I just mock you for your age. BTW – yesterday was Mr. Nature’s birthday. He just might be as old as you.
Someone is cheating and using the Robo-rater which I still can’t get to work. My comment was rated before it actually went up!
You still can’t get it to work? My God, you poor thing. How have you been making it through since?
My fours are highly selective these days. In other words, I’m really lazy.
Understood.
Yes we did have proms. But since my parents wouldn’t let me have the buggy, my date and I had to ride double on the mule. BTW, proms in an old hay barn are kind of fun if you find the right place to go.
Happy B’day to Mr. Nature. Age wise he might be, but feeling old wise, I doubt it. π
I dragged him out for an after dinner walk a couple nights ago and I was trying to get him to go faster than his usual stroll and I told him to swing his arms a little bit. After a bit of cajolling he agreed to swing ONE of his arms.
The only exercise he gets is walking from his car into work and back again.
He’s doing more than me. When I’m really happy here at the computer, I just raise my arms up and down a few times. Anymore seems like exercise.
Every couple of weeks he goes golfing and drives around from hole to hole, then the next day he can’t move.
Sounds like me except on the riding lawnmower. It really takes effort to turn on the ignition switch and then you have to turn the steering wheel to miss trees. Some times it just to much.
Good Morning Andi. Appears to be a gloomy day there.
I’m a bit tired of it. A little bit of blue sky would be nice.
Hope this set of guests is behaving nicely.
Same O, same O.
I think the sun is to overated. Heat, sweat, makes you squint. Plus it’s not conducive to slacking.
Wonder if Mary is back? I hope she had the best time possible under the circumstances.
It’s 45 here, going to a high of 53. I suspect you wouldn’t like that either.
She said it was 3 days so she should be back.
Good morning Andi. Here’s a bit of blue sky for you from a few days ago down the alley from our house.
That’s absolutely gorgeous.
We are very lucky to live where we do. I was just saying to Mrs Indianadem yesterday, as we were driving to a wedding, how intense all the variations of green in the forest are now.
I agree you’re very lucky. It looks like a wonderful place.
on your election win!
Yeah, sun — I remember that, vaguely.
Thanks – hope I can retire after this one. Until then, it looks like we will at least be able to head for Memphis next weekend for the meetup and a few days of R & R.
Blessings on:
The mothers who are laughing.
The mothers who are weeping.
The mothers who are just beginning.
The mothers who now need mothering.
The mothers who are confident.
The mothers who are tentative.
The mothers who dance and mothers who don’t.
Successful mothers.
Struggling mothers.
Strong mothers.
Frail mothers.
Red, yellow, white, black, brown mothers.
Straight, gay, biological, adoptive and step mothers.
Mothers without children who nurture the world.
Mother earth.
Blessing and joys to you all – and to all the fathers as well.
That was wonderful Kahli.
And Happy Day Mother Frogs!
Morning Tracy. Happy Mother’s Day.
Good morning to you. I hope you have a wonderful and peaceful Mother’s Day.
Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
Hope you and the Cabin Boys have a great day together.
It’s off to an interesting start, anyway. CBtE is getting lectured on his adolescent attitude by his father…I guess that’s my mother’s day gift? π
Happy mothers day to all you mothers! (Umm, that doesn’t sound quite right.)
I’m feeling so left out. I’ve been called a muthur among other things. Does that count?
I don’t think so. BTW, nice blog!
Thanks. I didn’t want to claim any of the other things I’ve been called because I don’t think they have days for those. π
Happy Mother’s Day to all frogs who are, have, or know mothers.
I get to have dim sum with katiebird today! That makes three live frogs in less than a month. (Raging Hippie and MaryB were the first two.) I’m getting spoiled. Who can I meet next?
Me, me pick me, pick me.
How do feel about heavily fried southern food with a side order of grits. π
I pick you!! I LOVE grits!! Can you add cheese, please?
Anything you desire. π
Well, if you would come to that mystery bookstore in Carmel, IN, I know who you could meet next.
Is your son home to plant a big, wet love-my-mom kiss on your cheek?
I so wish my pub would send me there!
My son is still asleep in Lawrence this morning, but I’ll collect that kiss later on today. And then my mom and I are going to the moofies.
Sounds like a fine day.
btw, maryb did mention the idea the two of you had for a meet-in-the-middle get-together.
Is Kansas City in the middle of anywhere? I’d sure love to be a part of a get-together but I don’t seem to travel very well lately.
maryb included you in her mention so I thought you already knew. But I think that St. Louis (lucky maryb) is pretty much the middle between Kansas City and Brown County.
By the time, we get around to actually making this anything close to reality, you may feel entirely differently about traveling.
I love traveling. It’s the after effects I don’t like. I’m still recovering from my weekend visit to St. Louis (where I was so busy with family I didn’t see MaryB and I’m haunted by that failure.)
I think these health issues that I’ve been talking about are going to keep me home until they’re resolved.
π
Maybe I can join in another get-together.
Don’t spend any time worrying about this one — it’s just in the fantasy stages. And there’s no reason why, if it does actually happen, that we can’t wait for you to feel up to going.
Ah, but if you and MaryB came here, only two people have to travel. If we go to St. Louis, 3 people have to make a trip. . . .
But since I’m the one that ends up having to drive no matter what, not too convincing. And if I come to Kansas City, I have a 10 hour or more drive across all of Illinois and Missouri — I’ll die of boredom before I can even arrive.
Whereas the people who live in kansas and missouri are accustomed to the landscape they’d be driving through…
Andi, I’d love a get together with as many people as possible. But, I’ve had such a miserable (and that’s putting it lightly) couple of weeks since my last trip that I can’t even imagine going anywhere ever again. Even as a fantasy, it doesn’t appeal to me.
I’m sorry.
I didn’t mean to sound like I was picking on you. I understand that you don’t feel like traveling and really hope that should we every get this together you might be in a better state to do so. But like I said before, it’s nothing to feel bad about either way because nobody is really planning anything.
I suspect this is true, and that it will all work out eventually without us having to worry much about it. That’s how all the frog get-togethers seem to happen. Hey, when it does? Maybe you and I could take the train, kb. That would be fun.
I agree that l0 hours both ways is too far to drive! I’m pooped today just from driving six hours back and forth to Omaha yesterday. Andi would get here, but she wouldn’t be worth a cup of warm spit! Which is more than I’m worth today. We want Awake Andi.
{{{kansas}}}
I can’t wait!
I’m already dreaming of oyster sauce!
Hey kansas, if some info I read while passing by briefly was right then I only missed your appearance in Denver by a day or two. Maybe next tour. π
Damn! I hope we have better timing next time.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!!! I have been busy this am with a 1138 and of course it can be hear at my 1138
The rest of the day will be cleaning, working on designs and web sites. LOL
Morning Refinish.
Morning!!!!
Morning again. Same as Andi said below.
Thank you!!!!
Good diary. Read and rec’ed.
Thank you!!!! and good morning.
Well the first wave is up and my 3 y.o. great nephew is demanding my attention.
See ya’ll later.
Have fun!!!!
Howdy from Ohio, folks! Missed you guys. And Happy Mother’s Day to everyone, I hope all you moms are getting whatever kind of day suits your
fancies. π
Thanks, Andi.
Looks like I’m missing everyone — I suppose they’re all out doing Mother’s Day things, perfecting slacking techniques, and/or doing their Fitzmas shopping. I’m going to spend the afternoon building furniture so I can get my aging ass off the floor and back into a proper desk setup, but I’ll be checking in again later. Hope everyone has a great day!
I just got back. Heeeeey Indy.
Hope your trip went OK and everything is good with you.
Hey thanks, Family Man. The trip was interesting but the long days driving and the hotel room beds mostly just served as a reminder that I ain’t 16 anymore. π Hope you & George are well as can be, as always.
We’re doing fine and just glad to hear you are OK.
Hey nearly neighbor, glad you’re getting settled in.
Thanks, Jim! I’m very much looking forward to seeing you & Andi. π But now, I’m off to build some furniture. I’ll pop into one of tonight’s Cafes for some much-needed chitchat.
Hi everyone, here I am, the lagger again, but today I will post a FBC, in just a little bit.
To all BT moms today!
Diane just opened up a new cafe so you should bring your wonderful self over there.
