Unfortunately Comcast Chicago does not carry Current TV. Dish subscribers around the country and select cities carry Current TV. I sent a letter to Comcast requesting Current TV and they indicated they would note that I requested it. The process, as they explained, is that channels are prioritized by demand and eventually they could enter the lineup. (Basically, they go on a list)
I am writing in hopes you will write comcast and request Current TV be added. Media is increasingly becoming one of the main attractions to the internet, but consumption by television is still 2-to-1 versus the internet. People are simply consuming more. While I enjoy watching on my computer, it will never reach nearly enough people without being on television.
Write below to request it:
I have DISH. I get Current TV? What is it?
I just checked and only see Current TV (Gore’s channel, right?) listed on DirecTV, which I’d never get because it’s owned by Rupert Murdoch.
It is somewhat difficult to describe. It is a conglomeration of short pods, google currents (the main news source) and almost wiki style. A lot of the programs or pods are produced by the viewers and range from local stories to those of international importance.
What an odd thing that Gore’s channel is most notably on (Rupert’s) DirecTV?
I have Comcast in Chicago and have Current. I have digital, which may be why i have it.
If thats the case don’t hold your breath, they are keeping some channels digital only to get people to upgrade.
What the hell? I have digital too.
It’s up in the 120-140 range i think.. from memory. I was only watching it on Monday, unless it’s gone since then.
No, this has gone on since Current started. It is around 121 or so. It says something like, Channel will be available shortly. Finally, I contacted Comcast and that was what they told me. Maybe I will try again in hopes of getting a better response.
