Too bad I missed this conference this year.

Good for her.
Though I wish Steve Gilliard was there, too.
I miss his opinions, his scholarship, on just about everything. Gilly is such a singular personality. I don’t think anyone can replace him. We can strive to speak up the way he did, with eloquence, with facts, with courage.
Im sorry you weren’t there either. I’ve seen your picture and read your writings, but I have yet to hear your voice!
I confess to being surprised that Digby is a woman. I didn’t expect that, for some reason! But it’s no surprise that she is as articulate in person as she is online.
I love her comments re Bush’s power grab being an assault on the constitution. It’s a horrible shame impeachment has been off the table, when it has never been more deserved.
Eh, my voice is over-rated.
A voice for print, eh? 😀
Quite a speech. But I’ve been impressed with Digby for a very long time.
She’s not just a brilliant pundit and writer, but a nice person too. One of my fondest blogging memories is from back in -04, when Digby replied to a comment of mine: “Hey [my moniker], I know you’re in Norway, but you write like an American. What’s yer story?” I answered that I was just using my school English. She called this “unbelievable” and asked if I had a spare room in case Bush won, claiming to love rakfisk.
Well, she’s still welcome, although I’ve never been one for raw fermented fish myself…
