CabinGirl and mythmother!
CabinGirl and mythmother!
Manito, I have a feeling that Bud gets alot of attention from women. 🙂
for a better wingman? He’s got magic basset-hound mojo. Potent stuff <|:-)
Hey, Bud, you little cutie you!
Let me get my baseball bat…I’ve always wanted to hit a Repug, I mean, elephant pinata, with it…
why my family would buy piñatas shaped like cartoon characters (i.e. Dora the Explorer), most of the time all the kids would end up screaming in horror at watching their friend get assaulted. I think it’s much more therapeutic to offer the elephant (or DJ’s Gee-Dub below). 🙂
Happy Day, CG!!! And beat the tarnation outta them damn rethugs! Hoping you’re having a fun day celebrating, and go ahead and overdo it if you want… I’m sure the other Cabin Folk will take good care of you!
Hey Manny, absolutely lovely pinata and pic of Bud! Hope you’re doing well, too.
Well, since you’ve given me permission to over do it…I better get started! 🙂
Lemme get the cameras… (and the hazmat suits, as I suspect what’ll come out of the elephant when we get it opened is NOT gonna be tamarindo or sweetarts….)
and emptied out the poison, refilling it with these.
Now THAT’S shameless 4-whoring if I’ve EVER seen it.
Have a 4.
Although I doubt there’s anything inside.
🙂 Happy Birthday CabinGirl 🙂
(I left you a Pug message in the last room)
Thanks…did I mention that I prefer nibbles to actual bites? 🙂
to actually bite when one’s face is flat. You get more of a love and snots smearing 🙂
The problem with a W-head piñata is that when you break it open, you find out it is empty. Actually I guess that would be you confirm that it is empty.
Oh, I wanna beat the tar out of an elephant!
Happy B-Day Cabin Girl! Maybe with luck we will hear that Rove will be going to Court by the end of the day. What a nice B-Day gift that would make!
We’ll defintely break out with the champaigne if the frogmarching begins. I think there’s a sizeable number of musicians around the pond too, so we’ll have to strike up the band as well.
A Tequila Sunrise Surprise
Ohh, lovely flowers. Thanks, DJ!
Oh cool! Two birthdays for the price of one! Happy B-Day Mythmother. May you have a lovely day.
Thanks, Kamakhya! We like to keep things simple around here!
Pssst…MM! Didn’t know it was your b-day, you bad girl! Hope you’re having a slackerly one, and I’ll come up with some cool flowers for ya tonight when I’m at home. (Can only be doing fly by waves here at work today, :-()
And aren’t those columbines DJ posted for ya gorgeous?? We have 10 new ones to plant soon, but none quite this color. You’re lucky!! hehe
Yes, gorgeous gorgeous columbines! Sorry I forgot to mention the B-Day…. Still, happy to hang on to Cabin Girl’s coat tails any day of the week!
So, how is your B-day going, mm? We had black russian cake with kahlua sauce and ice cream after lunch…yum.
Happy, happy birthday to CabinGirl & mythmother!
May you both have an excellently wonderful day & a truly glorious New Year.
Let your desires run free as the May breezes, o loverly pond-mates.
But do it nicely.
🙂
Thanks for the lovely poem birthday wishes, wilderness wench!
Absolutely my pleasure!
I’m so pleased that your year’s ended better than it began!
Here’s to another good one, many happy transitions, much beauty to photograph!
Gotta boogie — just wanted to pass along a little birthday cheer.
Enjoy!
Hey there WW… I think I saw the trails from your broom on the way in as you went out… hoping you’re doing well up there and that the kitties finally brought you dinner last night. Hope to catch you in real time soon … we have to stop meeting like this! hehe… take care!
I’m guessing we’ll come ‘face-to-face’ again soon enough — for at least as long as I keep leavin’ my peaked cap among the cafe’ doilies.
Hope you’re doing well yourself & you’re enjoying some nice, flowery weather.
As for me, the resident felines utterly neglected me last night. Too busy dreamin’ of mice in clover, methinks.
Today it’s raining & they’re moanin’.
Alas, I’m back on the broom, headed out. One can only avoid one’s pressing wenchly duties for so long without feeling like an utter slob.
A bientot ..
Just a quick friveby to wish two of my favorite people, CabinGirl and mythmother the happiest of birthdays. May you enjoy the day with love sent your way!1 Hoppy Birthday friends!
Friveby? Jeesh Leezy. I meant driveby! LOL
Hey, I like friveby! I think it’s up there with truthiness and blogtopia! and thanks for the birthday wishes!
I’ve prepared a little Mexican spread just for you two, complete with piñata!
MMMMM that looks like some GOOOOOOOOD guacamole! Need any help?? 🙂
Hey, eat all of it as far as I’m concerned. I’m not an avocado fan. But don’t get between me and the enchiladas (or whatever those yummy-looking things in the pan are).
corn husks, so perhaps they’re tamales? Either way, I agree that they look goooood. Speaking of food, I’m off to lunch, be back in a few.
Mystery food, eh? I thought they were flautas… maybe we’re all projecting one of our favorite Mexican dishes on that picture! Either way, tamales, enchiladas or flautas all sound tasty to me! And that pico de gallo sure looks good too… mmm, salsa.
Btw Manny, I bought my jalapeno and serrano plants over the weekend… can’t wait to get them in the ground and see them grow!
quite like homegrown chile. I think BooTribber Janet Strange has a tomatillo plant growing in her Texas yard. Speaking of, I should email her to check in, haven’t heard a peep in ages.
but finding the plants here now is difficult. One year I grew them from seeds, but our season isn’t quite long enough to get a decent crop of them before frost gets them. They are really cool plants though, and make an excellent salsa verde!
I love my serranos… they are my absolute favorite chile, right up there with jalapenos. But I also grow other hot ones for use in salsa and pepper relishes/jellies. As I think I mentioned before,I don’t do habaneros anymore due to a few unfortunate fiery experiences with them… hehe. Will be getting the tomatoes in soon, as well as planting my cilantro seeds (tough to grow here as they bolt so quickly). I’ll keep you posted over the summer on the salsa corner of the garden, and we can trade recipes perhaps. I could make mine in my sleep, lol.
Flautas, enchiladas, tamales, burritos, chimichangas, chiles rellenos . . . bring ’em on. Especially the rellenos. We don’t cook chiles at our house because my wife was allergic to them for most of her life and still has an adverse reaction toward them (more from conditioning than any expected bad result) but when we go out to the local Mexican restaurants that’s one of my favorites. Yum!
Slice em up and salt em is the best way to eat them. They are great on BLTs.
Crud, now I’m hungry.
My wife likes ’em. Sometimes even though I don’t I’ll buy some avocados and some tomatoes and some onion and lime juice and cilantro and tortilla chips, and she’ll have guacamole to her heart’s content and I’ll make up a batch of pico de gallo. Mmmmm, good eatin’.
I used to hate avacados until I discovered quacamole. I like to get real untraditional and put all sorts of stuff into it like garlic, onion and tomatoes. Then toss up a bowl of salsa made with tequilla and mix up some margueritas and I am one happy camper!
Just lurking and I saw this avacado comment and I thought I would tell you all that I just got a 30 gal. trash can full, of the biggest ones I have ever seen, (tree trim family business is the reason) and I am eating one right now for lunch…also trying to think of all the ways to use them.
The artist forgot their blindfolds, it’s apparent that they’re all completely blind to the ramifications of their actions….or maybe they’re too distracted by poker games and hookers. hmmmm
Hey everyone!
Drove down to the French Quarter yesterday morning, and got to check that out while it was mostly empty. We passed the Superdome on the way into town. It still looks pretty rough, but you can see that there are workers on the roof doing repair work.
I was hanging out by the pool earlier today when I noticed that there was an unexpected guest doing laps:
Also, I owe a couple people responses to my last comment from the weekend:
FM : Yes, I did come down via Hattiesburg. I don’t recall any kind of sharp turn in the expressway, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t there; that was around the time that I was passing a full 24 hours of awakeness.
IVG : The trip down definitely wasn’t glamourous, but the accomodations here are awesome. I’m looking forward to sharing more tales of the trip and some of that bourbon in some late night cafes, but I may need a couple days to recover from all the bourbon I’ve already had down here 😉
Be careful down there and come back to us safe and slightly sound 🙂
Thanks DJ 🙂
if you don’t mind, I’ll drink it inside instead of by the pool. Your shadow says you need a haircut, btw 😀
Nah, I don’t need a haircut yet. Another couple weeks, maybe.
Bourbon is definitely for inside. Margaritas, on the other hand… ;D
Margaritas in BOTH hands 🙂
And thx for the detailed response… ya didn’t have to, but appreciated! Good to hear you’ve got a great place to stay and are keeping yourself in bourbon, hehe. Enjoy the ambiance and make sure to have a Muffaletta or two while you’re there, mmmm… I remember those well from the Jazz Fest, as well as the most horrible sunburn I ever got on my head!
Anyway, take care, have fun and store up those adventure tales for FBL when you return! I’m sure we’re all eager to hear about your exploits (and you know how FM is going to react to that pool pic! I can just hear it now… lol.)
Where is the copy of that “guest” in my forum spiel you had? I could really use it right about now. 🙂 Thanks
I went to my doctor’s appointment and to say nothing happened would be an understatement. Too much to write about here, so here’s a link of what happened. Ya gotta be positive.
So it’s nap time for me and I’ll try to check in later.
You poor man! Get some rest!
But I’m really hoping one day to learn your “true identity” 🙂
Ya know, you can develop hemroids from sitting on the toadstool too long.
I know kansas’ new book is invigorating but you gotta learn to take care of yerself 😛
I was over at FM’s blog which led me to your blog. I’m all blogged out. 🙂
of a non-commenting lurker getting blogged out? <|:O)
I commented. 🙂 Once. My eyes are all tuckered out, baby!
Plus, Danni just got home and I had to “help” her with her homework. Then I kicked her outside.
Now what?
whut yew wanna dooo
Apparently as I wanted to go feed the dogs (vultures with fur) and help Jim with dinner.
to prep you for Happy Hour

it’s Happy Hour On the Beach – Enjoy the luau!
