There is very little legislation being offered to address the gun plague in our country.

Committees: Senate Foreign Relations
Latest Major Action: 2/14/2007 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations.

S.77 : A bill to improve the tracking of stolen firearms and firearms used in a crime, to allow more frequent inspections of gun dealers to ensure compliance with Federal gun law, to enhance the penalties for gun trafficking, and for other purposes.

Sponsor: Sen Schumer, Charles E. [NY] (introduced 1/4/2007)      Cosponsors (None)

Committees: Senate Judiciary
Latest Major Action: 1/4/2007 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Before we can get meaningful action we will need a massive public education effort. That means those of us who care about this need to start blogging about the gun plague.
