An American Hero In Iran

No, I’m not referring to Oscar winning best film “Argo” directed by Ben Affleck which has gotten months of great publicity. The former Canadian Ambassador lodged a formal complaint in Hollywood for not getting historic facts straight. BTW the Palestinian film “5 Broken Cameras” perhaps deserved more attention than the refusal of entry for its director Emad Burnat by US Border officials at LAX airport. An hour long delay beared some resemblance of daily difficulties by Palestinians moving inside the West Bank and being harassed and intimitated by Israeli IDF forces.

I’m talking of US World Champion wrestling Jordan Burroughs who won the title two years ago in Istanbul, Turkey. Still being an Olympic sport from the earliest beginning in Greece, both Iran and the US have great love for this sports event. As illustration was the warm welcome with open arms for the US wrestling team for a international challenge with the Iranian team participating in Tehran recently. Not the final result was noteworthy, but mutual respect between the peoples was exemplary. Iran won gold, Russia Silver and team USA bronze.
